Riley is great at drafting and finding hidden gems. But he also overpays them on their next contract.

riley problem is he doesnt deal those hidden gems for a superstar he ends up overpaying. robinson while a good player that tens of millions overpay. if role players like those get paid 20mil, you better have a superteam hes the last piece of puzzle.
i do think its close to superteam but butler and lowry wont last long.

i would have like to have seen everyone except lowry/butler traded for two more all nbas and form big 4. might sound bit 2k move but to win a chip you need to gamble like masai did.

Lowry is the 4th beat player on the Heat, so if you think he's good enough to be part of a "big 4," then the Heat apparently already have a big 4

Robinson never had much trade value, but he was a RFA and got paid a lot considering the leverage Miami had

He always tries hard in the regular season.

The league has caught up to the scouting report.

Too much podcasting it looks like and too little time working on his game.

Feels like he got complacent after receiving his contract and now wants to champion as a media figure like Lowe or Redick.

Problem is that none of those guys have a current full time job on the court being paid millions.

Exactly.

Love how people in here are attacking his contract, and his podcast  A player enters a slump, and the masses want to ignorantly blame it on the most surface level things they can think of.

Most shooters know this ... But they go through slumps. Almost every great 3pt legend went through a slump period in their career. I could rattle off excuses of why his shot is off, but it can simply be summed up as a slump. I'd bet money that he bounces back sooner than later.

When I clicked I was expecting something about Tim duncan and David Robinson in regards to some star wars thing.

That inclusion of D3P0 threw me off.

This may be the greatest post I've ever read. D3PO could be a legendary player for the heatchise.

I mean you usually enter prime around 27, and you can definitely continue improving into your 30s. Look at guys like Malone, Nash, Durant, and Curry, having/had some of their best years in their 30s.

Ahem.

Answer your own question, maybe? There's a long tradition in the NBA of this same cause and effect playing out over and over again.
