I'm loving Steph's defense this year and Honestly ever since 2017 but this is taking it too far
LeBron's NBA Cup MVP is more valuable than either of KD's Finals MVPs. This is the word of the Lord

The only reason gsw might not win a title is cause of curry’s defense
Teams pick on him all day
dont worry. bob took my exposed curry thread seriously and got multiple all defensive players and wont trade green at any cost now that klay is exposed soon. warriors are a strong defensive team even if opponent destroys 30 pt on curry they have dogs in wiggins too. now curry can hide behind them and not sweat getting ankle broken by ja.
Are your posts supposed to make us dumber every time we read it? It feels like the low IQ of the twitterverse is upon us whenever you post.

Conversely, teams often times try and screen their best player onto Curry thinking they’ll have a size advantage at least. It literally happens dozens of times a game v certain teams. You’d be surprised how often Curry ends being the main defender on a top tier perimeter player.
I will say GSW does tend to motion over support in Looney or Dray behind him to prevent east drives but for his stats & my eye test indicate he still holds his own.
In what specific play types? The underlined is rather vague.
As of this post on basketball-reference.com he’s the 3rd best rated guard for drtg behind behind Gary Payton 2 and miles mcbride (in 8 total minutes).
He’s 3rd overall in DWS behind Gobert & Giannis.
He’s the 4th guard in DBPM behind Caruso, Smart & Dejounte Murray.
And here’s a good breakdown by Sports illustrated. I’d consider a neutral site.

Those are all fine and dandy, he's 35th in unadjusted DRAPTOR. That isn't what I'm asking though. Which play types did your eye test lead you to the conclusion of "You’d be surprised how often Curry ends being the main defender on a top tier perimeter player"?

The last 3 years, Curry's defense has thrown out the narrative that he is a liability on defense. I'm not sure if he will make an all defensive team, but he has shown to be an above average to good defender. On the same level as Stockton, elite team defense and IQ but only an average 1 on 1 defender.

DRAPTOR has Blake Griffin at 3 and Derrick Rose at 4 so not exactly a stat I trust too deeply.
The example in the article of Harden is probably the one that has most examples through history. Lillard, Ja and Lebron have all done it also.

So iso's? PnR? Handoff? Postup? Transition? Cut? Spot up? What play types specifically do you observe that result in Curry being the "main defender"?

Harden has ball. Harden calls Curry’s guy to screen. Curry now faces Harden. He’s shown a lot of growth in being actually able to handle that situation.

It has only occured 36 times this season but yes Steph has excelled in those situations as a defender in the PnR ball handler play type.
Only allowing opponents 30% FG while causing a turnover 17% of the time. It may have something to do with Curry adding weight/muscle this summer, as well as the new rule for eliminating flopping by offensive players on shots.
P.S. in quite a few playoff runs Curry has ratcheted up his defense against this particular play type.
