POA defense new meta and they have Caruso Ball, which is why I would likely start DiVincenzo (hypothetically, since you cant assign that in sim)

Re: Build a Franchise (Season 5)- Discussion thread
Shoutout to Jaylen for holding me down the last few years, but in the sim he wasn't a #1 scorer type that I needed. Beal will provide that role for me and also excited to get Bobby Portis, needed some more beef/rebounding on my team.

Re: Build a Franchise (Season 5)- Discussion thread
for being it this late in the offseason kinda shocked so many big moves are going down.
This one actually makes sense for all parties.
SOUL gets a more established #1 option
Smash gets a more all around #2 option and added big man depth in WCJ
Dagawd gets more draft capital for his rebuild
The depth of Portland is really scary.

Re: Build a Franchise (Season 5)- Discussion thread
Maybe I'm wild for not liking the move for Portland here? I figured most would feel the way I do on it. It feels more like future proofing than trying to capitalize on the squad that's currently built. Not a bad move overall but I think when you're close to contending you gotta buy all in and Melo has too many stars to be downgrading the top end talent levels on your roster if you're contending.
SOUL might be the favorite out west now though with that defense and Beal to give them 30 a night.

The depth of Portland is really scary.

Everyone walked away a winner, and Kings and Blazers both got better.

I hear you, but no team is going to out-star Cleveland or Dallas so trying to go toe-to-toe, star for star is a bad approach IMO. Now we have arguably the best bench in the league, arguably the best player in the league and another elite two-way player to throw at the bigger wings in this league (PG13, Middleton, Giannis, Bron and Tatum). We also have T-Mann and Wendell who both should help improve our regular season record. I’ll roll the dice on this balanced SL.
I love Beal, but at the end of day he was going to get torched by the opposing wings, and we don’t have a defensive anchor to cover for him. Luckily SacTo has the perfect covers for him so it's a win-win.

I've been trying to get Jrue and Jaylen at least once a year for the past couple BAF seasons, now we got them both in the same off season.
