Just way way too streaky shooter. I wouldn't be surprised if he shoots ridiculously well in the next game. Also, I feel like Trez always has good games against Wolves...interior defense wasn't good today

Nah watch patty mills outscore him. He won't go against harden. If Irving was playing dlo would get torched. If ldo gets hot all nets gotta do is put Durant on him.

To be fair, Harrel has had an amazing start to this season. Like, statistically top 5 in the entire league amazing. So I'm not surprised he bodied us like he has everyone else.

But yeah, DLo has to do something about these games. You cannot shoot 3-18 in an NBA game. You just can't. You should be contractually obligated to hand your cheque back.

Overall, I'd just put this one behind us. We haven't been an amazing road team and they've been great at home, so that's not a good recipe for success. Plus this team still has major issues that I hope they address rather than continuing to chase the Simmons pipe dream.

Dunk. He pulled himself up for some reason and his hands slipped off the rim and fell flat on his tailbone. He might be able to sit for a few days…but at least he didn’t land on his wrists

Keep the core together and let edwards and Russ mature and that squad looks good!

Great game and I hope kat ok

You have a tough offense to defend…cutters galore. Nice win. You had way too many assisted shots while not turning the ball over. DLo shot like absolute ass. Wish he knew to stop shooting if they’re not falling.

Edwards and kat looking like that could be that Shaq and penny for the new age...dlo shot selection looking like he might be the odd man out

He's going to be out for a long time if he broke his tail bone. Fingers crossed.

It’s an anomaly with a DLo. You’d never guess he’s like top 3 in the league in +/-…and the last few games he’s been good to brilliant. But tonight was a lot like how he started the season. Brutal shooting and not knowing when to stop

Hate to say it...but the only wolves games you see are when they playing your team....and all the highlights are edwards destroying lives at the rim...dlo gets no love

The problem is the pay. He's on a max contract, and Edwards will also be maxed as well. That's 3 max player so we won't have a lot of room for roster movement. And honestly, DLo's play isn't worth a max contract. He is good- I'll admit that. But right now he's treading near Wiggins territory value-wise. Good, but shouldn't be on that type of contract. Would love to keep him if he's willing to take a major pay cut.

Players who are so reliant on jump shooting are going to have games like this. It's easy to say in hindsight that DLo should have realized his shot was off tonight and deferred to his teammates, but he's also an established clutch performer. Confidence is so important for shooters, and you almost have to let a guy like DLo work through it.

At least DLo is figuring out things on the defensive end which makes games like tonight easier to swallow. Live by the 3 and die by the 3 is a real thing unfortunately. We just have to hope DLo is on more times than he's not. If he shoots at his career percentages, and continues impacting the game positively on defense, he's easily a top 5 PG in the league.

I mean he air balled 2 3s in the final minutes…you know it’s not your night if that happens.

Up until recently, I would have 100% agreed with you about DLo being overpaid. I am so encouraged that DLo is committing to defense this year, and I think his shooting percentages will revert to the mean as the season goes on.

We still have some time to determine DLo's $ value before Edwards is up for a new contract. By then, we should have a pretty good idea whether KAT and DLo are a good fit to build around Edwards.

Was late to the party on this one but thankfully that let me check on KAT right after he got hurt. X-RAY’s negative, no breaks in his back (thankfully no broken tailbone.) Still wouldn’t be surprised if he missed next 6 games +.

Ant shot well and played well, but disappeared too often. He is sick so I will give him a pass, but would have liked more shots from him on a night where he is shooting well.

Dlo obviously is the zero of this game after being a hero in some others. Leo played bad D off the bench and didn’t really run the offense, so we needed Dlo to facilitate. Anytime a guy goes 3-18 and 1-12 from 3 that guy is going to get blamed for losing and rightly so. Need him to bounce back quickly.

Putting aside player performances, we lost this game on the glass. They got 52 rebounds to our 39 and 11 of those 13 were defensive. With Vando sick and a step slow in this one our lack of size again did us in. Even if KAT hadn’t gotten hurt I would have been calling for a move for size ASAP. But with KAT out for a while we are about to see the small ball pitfall put us in another hole.

I agree that Dlo’s next contract should not be a max, and hopefully he will stay for less money. He talked about feeling wanted when he came here, and valuing that we wanted him, let’s see if he is loyal enough to return the favor. I do think we need another expensive talented big, especially if KAT is gonna miss time now or later and I think that big is probably Wood, but time will tell.

His defense is a pleasant surprise, and he's doing a better job being a floor general. His shot however, will always be streaky. That's who he's always been. At the end of the year he'll get his usual 20 ppg but the deviation from game to game is always painfully streaky and that will cost us a lot of games. All that said, I still appreciate what Dlo has offered. It's just that if we're going to pay 3 guys max money, we should be title contending- not barely sniffing the play offs. Plus, we we need to get bigger and stronger in the paint, and DLo is the best asset we have at acquiring someone like that.

This plus, Vando, Ant, and Nowell all have the flu. We looked 1/2 or more steps slow because we were tonight. We kept it close until things fell apart end of game, that isn’t easy to do when KAT and Dlo both have bad and inefficient games. Worse still your missing MCD who despite his struggles is still a solid defender and badly needed size. You guys saw how their bigs (Harrell) just torched us in the paint. All in all we did well to keep it close on a night that just didn’t feel like it was going to be ours. Losing by less than 10 when Dlo goes 3-18 and 1-12 is an accomplishment in and off itself.

Return to Minnesota Timberwolves
