No, you weren't. Stop trying to act like this, it's tiresome. You're old enough you shouldn't have to do this and in fact it's, ironically, very Olshey behavior. You were dismissive of other people's theories, thoughts and facts all while you were very defensive and throwing out your own conspiracy theories that had no basis in fact at the time. You know the difference between your quoted statement and what actually happened, so stop painting yourself as a martyr.

LOL...that's a pretty defensive reply

what was I "dismissive" of? That it was Paul Allen responsible for matching Crabbe's offer sheet? You damn right I was dismissive of that because Crabbe's contract was only a small part of the 342 million in contracts Olshey gave out that summer. Which ones were PA and which ones were Olshey? And I had seen, several times, defenses of Olshey's management become "PA made him do it".

my "conspiracy theory" about the investigation was based upon the language of "workplace misconduct" and "hostile work environment". That looked like legal jargon to me aimed at firing with cause. Tell me...does it look to you like the investigation was the basis for termination?

and yes, I was skeptical of the Vulcans as well; I have a low opinion of them. And yes, I think Paul Allen was a much better owner than Jody Allen

What amazing news to wake up to on a Saturday morning. As I’ve stated before, having Neil Olshey at the helm made it increasingly uncomfortable for me to root for the Blazers. His manner was a shocking combination of arrogance, pettiness, and condescension that stood firmly in opposition to the sort of “character” that Portland has claimed to put first since the fallout of the Jail Blazer era. I guess we won’t know any details of the investigation from the Blazer organization to see the substance (though some complainants may speak out on their own behalf). I guess “that’s proprietary, Neil”.

if Olshey files a lawsuit that actually goes to trial then the details of the investigation will be revealed.

otherwise, probably not

I thought they would keep him until the next off-season but I guess I was wrong on that.

NY gm and memphis gm are front runners. If one of those i prefer memphis but they both seem like ***Yawn***

Seems like we need a “finisher” gm. I think Ainge excites me and i think we need to aim high. If we offer gm + president to the new gm i think that role is enough for someone special to jump on it fairly quickly

Maybe but a basketball franchise is a billion dollar business, they are going to have lawyers and people running the numbers on what is the best course of action. I doubt the franchise is using false or exaggerated claims of Olshey's misconduct in an attempt to get out of his contract, it just doesnt sound like a good business decision at all. They would expect a law suit and would probably end up paying more than had they just paid Olshey, as well as the damages to the franchise's reputation. It seems more likely that Olshey actually did something wrong and that's why he was fired.

Also that stuff fades with time, remember the whole Darius Miles debacle? Where the Blazers tried to forbid teams from signing Darius with the sole intent of him playing enough games to make the Blazers have his salary impact their cap.

It was a huge egg on the face moment for the Blazers, and low and behold one team helped Darius play enough games to get that retired due to injury cap exception annulled. But now? No one talks about it or remembers it, **** I think even from hardcore Blazer fans from that era many don't recall it that well without being brought up.

Nike (Oregon) has offered Cristobal an extension. He's not getting fired but might leave if the right job comes open.

I saw this, he’s not a championship caliber coach and i think extending him for major money is the single dumbest and most fire-worthy offense of mullen’s career as ad. But obviously nike is making these calls

10 years 100 mil or whatever usc paid out is the rumored comparison. Absolute travesty of a contract and i don’t want any part of this bum getting one penny more than he’s making now

Money is irrelevant to Nike but after watching the first half of tonight's game, I might agree about
Cristobal.

Going back to the Blazers, one would think the door to a Dame trade is now wide open, assuming Dame's
injury heals up. It'll be interesting to see who is calling the shots for if Tayshaun Prince gets the job, one
can see the new coach/GM try to rebuild the Blazers in the mold of the old Pistons. For once the front
office and coach might be on the same page.

Oh for sure. You’re 100% correct. That said, the Blazers are in a position where they need to make fast changes if they hope to keep Lillard. For all we know tho, maybe that ship has already sailed.

I think Lillard has been consistent about saying he plans to stay. Maybe he changes his mind, but he has said some very committed things about sticking with the franchise even in hard times.

We don't know if NO was canceled because there's no confirmation of what he did or didn't do.

But it could be argued that he should have been canceled for job performance aloe.

If the Blazers trade Dame, that would have to be a blow it up situation? They'd probably try to get rid of the other big contracts and try to amass lottery picks, possibly hope to draft some generational players or maybe the next Dame. Though it's asking a lot for a rookie to come in and immediately be able to get buckets like Lillard did.

Or could they get at least a perennial all-star -- might be tough to get an all NBA player for him, unless you take a chance on someone disgruntled like Kyrie or Simmons.

Update: Mario to miami looks like it’ll happen:

My thoughts: Good go, for the kinda money they were prepared to offer him its time to move on. They have money to offer an elite coach mario isn’t elite
