What L do I have that is worse than having LaMelo at 18?
I was right about 3 point shooting. I expect to be right about Tacko Fall. Some coach will figure out how to use Tacko Fall. This movement towards undersized centers will sweep ng back. Back to the basket scorers will return to the NBA.

I mean bro. Come on. If you're sitting here telling us that you'd still take LaMelo at 18 1) everyone knows you're lying and 2) it's a sign of a bad analyst not being able to admit your mistakes.
You went out of your way to short LaMelo and he's obviously a generational prospect. You had him at EIGHTEEN bro. You should be disqualified from every doing a big board again tbh. It's like Yoda having Luka at 14 or whatever.

i don't like Melo, never liked Melo, will never like Melo, that's just me, deal with it, but I don't go to his thread and bring it up every time he has a bad game, didn't do it in his rookie year either, that's the difference.

Re: Cade Cunningham
Clyde still has Melo behind Bol Bol on his prospect board.
I didn't even know clutch scoring was really a thing. I thought some freakonomics guy disproved it. J/K, but not entirely.

I would actually like to know how to track it, so if anyone finds a link to it let me know. Would be interesting to look at.
I think it's basically just how many points your responsible for in the final 2 mins through points, assists, etc..

I’ll give the kid his props, he had a nice tripe double tonight. Even did it against Mr. Triple Double himself.

Re: Cade Cunningham
Cade is fine just as long as you put the blinders on and ignore his turnovers.
Over past 5 games
19.6 PPG on 46.9% FG, 45.9% 3 PT (a smidge too hot from 3?).
7.4 REB
3.8 AST
5.2 TOV
Shooting the ball well, which we know he can do. I'm here just to kill the pre-draft narrative that he is a point guard or point forward. Nice player, can score the ball, not a Luka, definitely not a #1 pick.
If you accept these criticisms, then we are on the same page. Nice #3-5 pick in a nice draft with potentially 1 superstar ceiling player (you know who).

He can run the offense fine. His TOs are alot of fumbles and just complete bone head tossing it to a standstill guy that he can clean up.
But he can definitely pass the ball and that was even evident in college. This isn't a finished product here or anything.

Yeah, just look at his games with Killian out, where Cade had more PG responsibilities. He had a nice stretch of 6 games around that time where he averaged 7.2 AST and 3 TOV (though his own shooting took a dive). I think this range is attainable for him to average within a few years time, and would definitely put him into the "primary playmaking wing" category.
And I know people like downplaying this, but the fact that the Pistons are the worst team in the league at hitting open shots (last I checked) has an effect. Like it or not, this has to be considered when looking at any numbers.
Anyways, anyone claiming to come in and "kill a narrative" 18 games into a career that has already shown plenty of flashes to the contrary cannot be taken very seriously.

You do realise he’s 18 games into his rookie season right? Making any definitive statement at this stage is just stupid.

Lol he is a rookie who is thrust into a high volume onball role with a mediocre co creator (Killian), no shooters, nor a viable PnR big.
From 11/15 to 11/26 (7 games), he had 49 assist to 22 turnovers. A shade over a 2:1 ratio. Not simply spamming 3s but also getting to the cup and showing an ability to finish. Also a plus defender. If I have any criticism, its his inability to draw fouls thus far.

Guy cherry picks a 5-game sample in a 18 game career... to prove a hypothesis that goes exactly opposite of what he was trying to say in the 1st place.
