They are also really getting away with murder with Jo. It's so sad how easy it is for Miami to score, and how hard it is. Rebounding also makes a difference too I guess.

The more I think about it, I don't think Simmons gets traded until the summer.
This is reminding me of Lindros.

Makes sense in a backwards way. He's waited this long for a star to fall, might as well see it through until the summer.
This team is borderline unwatchable as is. If they don't care about this year, I'm going to follow suit.

I read how he is also one of the most clutch players in the league.
We just need someone who can take those shots in crunch time and get us good points per shot to bail us out when our dribble drive offense get stalled. Not necessarily a guy who can score 40 a game when we need him.
Yeah, Dlo would fill multiple functions.
He's a huge PG. He can operate as a scorer on the ball in the halfcourt. He can operate as a spacer off the ball for our other guys. He even makes plays on the defensive end regarding steals and blocks. He's an incredibly underrated piece. Elite fit.
Russell is a negative asset. They would need to attach a FRP with him just to send him out.

Awesome. So we get the better player and an asset.

While I don’t enjoy watching what’s on the court… and I hate it for Embiid… the simple fact is if we don’t get a big score for Ben we don’t make it out of the first or second round.
So yeah ‘any decent trade’ would be better than what we are watching now, but the end result would be as bad or worse in the post season.
Also, with things deteriorating with Dame, Morley can’t blink now. There are some pretty big flaws with adding Dame (especially long term salary ones) but huge short term benefit I think, which would be a win for Morley (and us).
So yeah I hate it… but can’t blink now.

Does Dame want to play here? The only rumors I remember reading are that he wants to play for Warriors or Lakers or Knicks. Never actually heard him express any reported interest in the Sixers at any point. These guys usually end up where they're reported to want to play.

Russell main asset is that he is friends with Towns which increases the chances he stays.
However, that really doesn't mean anything to the Sixers. I'd probably take him if they were giving him away tho.

We can get Hield, Russell, McCollum, Brogdon, etc - This tier of players fits really really well.
No they don't.
I don't want any of those players for Ben if that is what is being offered continue to fine him and wait if any star shakes loose. We have nothing to lose really in that case by doing so those guys aren't needle movers and a similar player will still be there at any point should we decide to lower the price further in six months or even a years time
It's why I said we should trade for someone like Grant without giving up Simmons. The better the team is the more leverage we have not only against Ben but other teams as well.
I wonder if the Pistons would take Harris and Springer for Grant and filler?

Russell is not better than Simmons. Not even close. Simmons is a positive asset. Russell is a negative asset. Teams are wanting to trade multiple FRPs and swaps to get Simmons. Minn would need to trade a FRP with Russell in order for a team like OKC to take him. Not even close.

I think Mavs is showcasing Porzingis. Mavs and Doncic don’t like Porzingis.

Just google it and read between the lines. For instance.
Then there are questions about the chemistry between Doncic and Porzingis. The Mavs' franchise cornerstones admittedly aren't friends, a distant dynamic that team owner Mark Cuban has compared to the early stages of the partnership between Dirk Nowitzki and Jason Terry, which ultimately produced two NBA Finals appearances and a championship.
But Porzingis has been frustrated, often feeling more like an afterthought than a co-star as Doncic dominates the ball and the spotlight, sources told ESPN. Porzingis frequently made thinly veiled references during his postgame media availabilities, such as saying the "ball actually moved tonight" after high-scoring performances or stating that the offense didn't involve him on low-scoring nights
https://www.cbssports.com/nba/news/mavericks-kristaps-porzingis-frustrated-next-to-luka-doncic-but-trade-interest-is-minimal-per-reports/amp/
Mchmahon (very reliable person) also reported Porz wanted a trade during the offseason.
I dont think Porz want to play this style with Doncic and Doncic’s absence could allow Mavs to showcase Porz.
They’re not gonna broadcast to everyone they hate Porz to hurt his value. But you can just follow the breadcrumbs.
Porz doesnt want to play Doncic’s heavy PnR style (“ball actually moved tonight”) thus he wanted Carlisle gone. Porz is getting it this season while I think it lead to some decline to Doncic’s game compared to last season.
Porz may want to play on our dribble drive system where the ball can keep moving and then we can take advantage of mismatches on either Biid or Porz as “go to guys” when our dribble drive gets stalled.
If you can get Dame for Ben or Tobi, do it over Porz. But I wouldnt mind trading Tobi or Ben for Porz if Porz is the best offer out there

Very early on Chris Haynes had him interested in Philly iirc. I believe Haynes is kind of a mouthpiece for Dame. I don't think we've been directly mention in quite some time though.
They say an analytics man doesn't have a heart, but I ran the numbers and nothing can be further from the truth - Sam Hinkie probably

Yeah. Porz can pop while Maxey can punish the defense by driving to the basket if they have their bigs gravitate to the perimeter on both Porz and Embiid.
One of Porz and Embiid will always have a smaller defender, and both has the ability to shoot over smaller defender.
Both porz and embiid can step out on PnR and one of them can rotate to the paint to protect the rim.

Re: Simmons Trade Thread - The Ocho
Actually, I’m quite sure Morey wants Lillard or Beal and them only. Portland kind Wizards suck. Losing game after game.
Doc showcasing Maxey (playing so many minutes) and Thybulle (starting and his defense on Curry being all over internet) has something to do with that.
My guess is Morey thinks he can do Simmons + Green (salary) + Thybulle for Lillard / Beal
And then he can do Harris + Maxey + Picks + swaps + whatever for a 3rd star (Ingram / J.Brown / Fox)
