Cleveland Cavaliers Team To Watch In Ben Simmons Trade Talks

As NBA teams get players out of the health and safety protocols, trade talks are expected to pick back up. That means the Ben Simmons trade buzz should get going again too.

The Cleveland Cavaliers are one team to watch in trade talks for Simmons. The Cavs previously had interest in the disgruntled Philadelphia 76ers star. Cleveland's good start to the season, plus Simmons fitting their roster's timeline age-wise, make them a good match for Simmons.

The Indiana Pacers, Minnesota Timberwolves and Sacramento Kings are also expected to show renewed interest in getting a trade done for Simmons.

I suppose the Sixers might still try to turn Ben in to a pick package if they think they can eventually deal those picks for a player they really want while adding some help for this season; but historically teams like to call Dan Gilbert to up offers from other teams.

100% this. With all the talks about what the 76ers want for Simmons, they'll only be after the stars. Garland may very well be an All-Star this year and would be a fantastic asset to the 76ers that'd help them immediately, while Mobley is the prime ROY candidate with so much potential. Them along with Jarrett Allen are definitely the core for the Cavs going forward, and hard to imagine any of them being on the trading block. Sexton and Okoro are their best trade assets, though with Sexton out for the season he's rather minimal outside of a team wanting his bird rights. I just don't see either of them even opening up a discussion for Simmons unless there's a 3 team trade to be had. Love might be valuable to a couple teams, but hard to deny his best days are behind him and he's best used as a productive bench player at this point.

The logic is this all ends in a 3-4 team deal. This won't be some simple deal.
