Lol, what!! Why would we do this. And take on two years of Kevin Love just to dump Dragic? And give up Siakam for Allen? This is horrible and short about 2-3 firsts.

Meanwhile Cleveland clears 20 million in cap space and gets and gets an all-star (or near to) and can now move Mobley to Centre, and don't give up any picks moving Love? Why would they do this... gee, I don't know, because it's great for them?

This fanbase is starving for center that they really believe Allen is better than Siakam.

Lock and ban !! This guy knew what he was doing when he made that title ( even if he can’t spell )

Fake, clickbait threads .. need consequences .. ban him, then let the forum know that he was banned for this nonsense !
Also .. what a joke of a trade!!

Happy new year everybody

He's been good, but he benefits from Garland and Rubio spoon feeding him on lobs.

Rubio and Garland benefit from tossing shots and passes in the general direction of the rim and knowing one of Allen, Mobley, or Markannen will usually be there to finish. No team gets more out of literally just throwing the ball towards the basket, make miss or pass.

The Cavs have been a feel-good story for once and I don't see them moving off Allen unless he gets exposed in the playoffs a couple times. Probably even if that happens this year, since they've now lost 2 guards for the season.

He’s averaging 17/11 on 70% true shooting while being the best 2 way player on the 2nd best defensive team in the league.

He’s also only 23 years old making 10M+ less than Siakam.

Cavaliers are not doing this trade.

Neither are the raptors since 2 way wings are way more valuable than Centers who can't play in the playoffs.

Possibly, but you can also end up with Marcus Smart outscoring said 2 way wing that flamed out in the playoffs. I'm sure the Cavs will rest happily with their bet on Allen.

I'm unclear why this trade idea is not locked. OP, you know there is a thread for this

And we can rest happy to have Siakam rather than a center who can't create anything offensively or play in any kind of playoffs series.

I'm really not. Pascal would make them worse and not move the needle at all.

We'll just agree to disagree.

I'm confused, I thought the wise and mighty KL78192020 said that seniority on a message board was extremely important with respect to basketball takes.

Wow. He is not the best two way player on that team!!!!

JV averages close to 17/11.... should we trade Siakam for him? Beyond that, taking on Loves two year deal without 2 first round picks (the going rate the last few years) is insane.

He is. He's better than Evan Mobley right now and is the perfect long term partner beside him.

Allen is just a better asset than Pascal is right now, there's no reason to entertain that trade period lol.

These offers keep getting worse. I am starting to think some people just want to ruin this franchise.

I don’t think they do it. Allen is younger and locked up for longer term (Siakam only has 2 years left in his deal Allen has 4 years left). Siakam doesn’t match their timeline of young players (Siakam is going to turn 28 next season, their core of Garland and Mobley are much younger).

TGM wrote:Don't get me wrong, I'm a fan of Pascal, but fit wise he might not be what this team needs. One of our biggest issues is defense at the 5. Allen fits perfectly for our team. Given that Cavs have MObley and he will be groomed to be their future 5. Adding Pascal at the 4 is a great fit for Cleveland. Nurse likes having bigs that can shoot the 3. Who better than a rejuvanated KLove. I get the contract situation sucks, but I think a couple of draft picks could resolve that issue:

Pascal
Dragic
Birch

for

Allen
Love
future 1st round pick (lotto protected), and future 2nd.

People might be why take on the salary, well our cap situation going into next season will still be over the cap. So carry KLove for one more year doesn't really have a huge opportunity cost for us. The 2023/2024 season is more meaningful. At that time you have KLove, Fred and Trent all expiring, unless Fred and Trent exercise player options, which i think is a low probability.

Our starting 5 right away will be:

Fred - Flynn - Banton
Trent - Svia
OG - Champagnie
Barnes - Love - Watanabe
Allen - Achiuwa - Boucher

You must be a Cavs fan. Kevin Love wouldn't even get off the bench here because of his "no look" defence.

Address the minimum two firsts for taking Loves contract, which you keep ignoring, then we can at least have a starting point. Lol.

For the Cavs, I agree.
