If the current trend continues of half of team's rosters being in and out due to the "protocols"-- How does that affect the trade activity this deadline? Of course, hopefully the whole thing settles down and goes away, but no signs of that so far.

Can see many teams talking themselves into lack of continuity being a reason to stand pat and see what they have. And some may just say it feels like a lost / wacky season , so best to wait 'til the offseason to make moves.

Half the teams rosters in protocols means positive tests right? NBA will have total herd immunity by the TDL.

Oh man. What a bummer. Guy was having a great impact, and Cleveland was fun to watch with him. Hopefully, they should still be, but dang.

That's such a huge letdown. Everything was going the Cavs way this season. It seemed like every move they made turned out gold. Rubio and Love have enjoyed a revival there. They know how to play the game.

Cavs have been a super fun team. Losing both him and Sexton is killer.

Would the Knicks trade Fournier for Rubio?
The Knicks get the cap space back.
The Cavaliers get a solid bench player long-term.

Ehh, not sure for CLE. If the cost is basically free I get it, but if they're paying anything for Rondo that's pretty meh for me.

Adding Rondo to a locker room that may be very shaky with Rubio out sounds like a recipe for disaster.

He's also just garbage too so I don't get it for Cleveland at all.

Yeah I imagine it's essentially Rondo for a roster spot. Has Stanley Johnson been good for them? I'm not one to judge solely on one game but he looked rough against the rockets, which is the only game I've seen of his with the Lakers

He's a role player for them, as long as he's active defensively and looking to move and cut on offense he is honestly a rotation piece on the Lakers.

Portland just had another player enter the protocols. Why doesn't the league just shut things down for
a couple of weeks and get all their teams whole instead of playing with G league guys or guys in their

I don't think you can pinpoint a time and say -- well in 2 weeks (?) -- we have everyone back. If the league were to shut down, what rate of players would they need to be healthy to continue and could they guarantee they were testing players? And would they need warm up days then? It just gets so messy and with no obvious time to restart. And all that is ignoring how much financially it would hurt to do that.

I wouldn't be surprised however is some regions start banning crowds at games, or reducing what has been allowed.
