Jaylen and Atlanta is only going to pick up steam going forward, can say that much.

They are an interesting trade partner, and who I’ve been eyeing for awhile.

I've thought for awhile Atlanta had the pieces to deal for a star, I just didn't think it'd be ours. But they won't move Collins, it'd be something with Okongwu, Reddish, and filler. And do we want Okongwu to duplicate Rob? Best case he's a better player, but then it's a roster problem. Could they play together? Okongwu/Rob/Grant would be a nice front court..

There's no way they trade Haliburton, Fox is the odd man out. He's borderline John Wall level now, big contract, Sacto obviously needs to move him, and he's got question marks. Who trades for Fox? The Clippers? Knicks? Porzingis swap?

If we get rid of brown it needs to be a gamble worth taking. Most of what I'm reading ain't that. I still say beal and dame should be the end goal. Go hard for that. If we do that and don't win I won't be mad. We at least tried.

If we stay put or trade brown for pieces that mean nothing towards a fight for championship I'll be pissed.

So basically what I'm saying is, get dame and beal or you're dead to me.

You're really helping Atlanta out and not getting a lot back in comparison to what you're giving up.

I think you're meaningfully underselling Dejounte Murray. All NBA defender whose passing has blossomed the last 18 months and is the same age as Brown.

Now, I am no fan of Reddish but Murray I would be very interested in if we really do decide to break up the Jays.

All NBA defense awards for guards are pretty meaningless. It's regularly given to role players who can try really hard on that end because they don't have to do much on offense.

Murray is a guy I’m trying to add to the jays not trade Jaylen for- we should be aiming higher with Jaylen trades and this is someone who is way more open to a Jaylen trade that 75% of this place.

Flaws/ceiling and all he’s our last real valuable asset. You look to capitalize not make sideways or pick/potential based deals.

Murray has been very good and I would love to see him on your team, but I still don't think Boston is getting enough in this deal. SAS also isn't getting enough.

Brown>>>Okongwu, Dieng, Gallo, Reddish

I think Atlanta needs to offer up a decent bit more. I don't assign all that much value to Dieng and Gallo though it is definitely positive value overall. Reddish is looking good lately, but he gets paid in a year and a half and there is a reason Atlanta has been kinda shopping him for a year or so now. Okongwu has looked really good this year but like others have said you also have a young center so the impact would be somewhat negated. I do like the idea of making it a three team deal to get you a PG though like in the Murray idea. Just think it will cost Atlanta a lot more for Brown.

I feel like adding John Wall to this team without giving up much would make us light years better. Would have to be via buyout

Wall/Dennis/Smart/Pritchard
Smart/Dennis/Romeo/Nesmith
Brown/J Rich/Nesmith
Tatum/Al/Grant
Rob/Al/Freedom

We are like Phx without CP3 right now. True contenders need that veteran leadership. We have Al but he’s a quiet guy and he’s all we got in that regard.

Christian Wood is an interesting target. Improves our big man depth dramatically. Has some shooting ability and is pretty athletic so he should be able to play with Horford and Rob. His addition keeps Grant at the wing where he's better and Wood fits with the Smart, Brown, Tatum age group.

Further Wood's salary of just under 14 million is pretty easy to trade for. Juancho (7 mil) and one of Nesmith / Romeo (both around 3.5 mil) gets you pretty damn close from a salary perspective.

How much does he cost to get? I'm thinking Houston asks for Grant and our 1st. If you can get them to accept Nesmith or Romeo instead of Grant in the package it seems like a no brainer for Boston. Question is are there better offers out there? Not sure how strong the draft is this year but our pick is actually pretty attractive at the current time.

That trade leaves Atlanta with no size behind Collins and Capela. That's a very small team. Okongwu isn't available.

I like Dejounte Murray, good upcoming young player but adding another guy that cannot shoot consistently is not the answer. If you are replacing Brown it needs to be someone that scores and shoots with his efficiencies or close to it.

I have zero interest in Christian Wood, who you would have to overpay to keep beyond 2023, Cam Reddish ((33% for his career from beyond the arc) or Jamal Murray, a point guard who has never averaged 5 assists in a season.

Bogdanovic and Heurter are both top-of-the line shooters with manageable and very tradeable contracts. Those are the players I would want.

I would also have no issue with dumping a huge chunk of salary on the Rockets for John Wall, some young players and picks.

That's fine. Move on from Smart.

I mean I can’t confirm, nobody can lol. But all I’ll
say is don’t be surprised if you hear more and more of Jaylen/Hawks talk, especially if the team continues scuffling. Jaylen is a HUGE name in the area, he takes a lot of pride representing Atlanta, and the Hawks desperately needs a consolidation trade.
