Has Ja Morant been the best point guard in the NBA this season so far?

Drew Hill said it should be a debate and here we are. No one expected the grizzlies to be this good this year. Nobody were even talking about them. Ja has torched other top points guard this year like Harden, Curry and Lebron. I think he’s been the most consistent and best point guard in the NBA this year so far.

NOT EVEN CLOSE.

Trae Young having a better season than Ja and everyone else at the position (unless you count Steph as a PG).

Kinda strange that the Grizz would have a much better record without the best PG in the league (10-2) than with him (14-12)

That’s a pointless statement because the Raptors went 17-5 without Kawhi and couldn’t win a title without him. The Warriors went 33-1 without KD and couldn’t win a title without him. Not sure what your point is on this post.

Everyone keep saying once he got his outside shot he was going to be a MVP caliber player and that's what happening right now.

Curry and Cp3 are clearly better because of experince.

Trae is debatable .

Also lol at Garland vs Morant post a few weeks back.

Yeah weird a team like Memphis would beat up on the Rockets, OKC, Toronto, Kings, Luka less mavs and Covid ravaged heat and covid ravaged lakers, lets read into that Ja might actually suck because they still beat **** teams. Must be because of JA

I have Steph as clearly the top

CP3/Trae/Morant are the next argument. I think Ja is All NBA worthy myself. If you isolate the year and count productivity he's probably *better* then CP3, I have him over Trae as well

Lol...

I've seen some whatabout-whatabout end-runs & reacharounds in my day, but that one was just TOO damn hilarious.

Well, its true. The Griz beat a bunch of bad teams when Ja was out. The defense/efficiency crew that doesnt watch games pounced. Ja is balling this year and is arguably the most exciting player to watch in the league.

You could make an argument for Morant as the second best PG in the league this season even though I'd probably still have a couple guys ahead like Trae Young and Chris Paul. With the likes of Luka and Dame struggling compared to their usual level, Curry is by far the best PG this year.

Alternative title is Ja Morant the MVP? Is basically what his teammate is saying.

He's been the most exciting PG in the NBA for me.

He isn't the best but the record was also a fluke. Grizzlies now have won 5 straight games and that came against the Lakers with Lebron going off, Nets and Suns.

I have no problem with Ja's teammate thinking he is the best PG in the league. He is one of the best so it's just a matter of opinion.

Wasn't there a thread here where people were claiming the Grizzlies were better without him? LOL
