I never understood Nurse just giving the ball to Banton and have Barnes sitting in the corner.
I mean, I love the guy and he's an interesting prospect but Barnes is much father along with his development and should have been getting those chances over Banton.
If this were a regular non covid season Banton would be in the G league for most of the year.
the thing is, its not nurse directing this. nurse lets the guys do what they do. bonton demanded the ball and scottie is scottie, he wont. which is why banton had the ball most of the time. nurse should of directed his young guys but he doesnt.
While I think you're right that Nurse's equal opportunity approach means Scottie should be more assertive on his own, I personally think Nurse or someone on the staff did tell Barnes to take a more leadership role the past few games where he has had extended time as the primary ball handler. It didn't look like he was deferring to Siakam or Gary.
