With Klay back and still awaiting Wiseman to come back (Though, don't think he'll make any significant strides as an individual contributor on offense), what else does this team need at the moment? Backup PG/Ball-Handler? Back-up big to provide scoring punch?

Ball handler, they are covered with green, Poole, iguodala, and Curry. Playmaker is where they are short. Iguodala is the best after Green, Curry is ass on passes, Poole has shown some potential but still too inexperienced. They need a legitimate backup big. If Looney goes down, I don't even want to see what Bjelica and Wiseman look like in the playoffs. Green can spot, but it takes so much energy. It just shows how important Green is to the team because he covers three areas that this team doesn't have depth for. Ideally they can nab a center defender with play making ability. JTA is supposed to be that guy, but he isn't good enough.

But to get that guy, they will need to cut Lee or JTA which doesn't look like that's happening. If Marc Gasol was in shape, he would be ideal. If push comes to shove, I let one of the others go with an agreement to sign them back next year to fit a center in if this team really needs it. That's only if Looney goes down. Otherwise just keep going on like usual and protect Looney even if it means playing the others at center more. Ideally this shouldn't be a worry, but because Wiseman is so young and inexperienced, the odds are he will make mistakes in the playoffs.

Great question! I think this team has enough as is to win it all, but I would feel a lot more comfortable with a Shaun Livingston type point guard. Confident low turnover veteran, can guard multiple positions, smart on defense, and can knock down some shots.

I wouldn’t have minded if the Warriors tried to get Rondo before the Cavs. Don’t think he would put us over the top but he fits the bill. Not a shot maker but very reliable with the rock. Also a man who gets fired up playing against CP3.

I got to wonder how good/bad Boogie looks. He got 16mpg with the Bucks and got 9points.

I am pretty content to stick with what they have myself. It seems I am higher on Wiseman than most are here tho. I think another playmaker would be a nice add but I can't think of one that is available at the moment. It will be interesting to see who might pop up on the buyout market.

I just wrote a long response about needing another big that can be a real difference maker, then closed down the window by mistake.

So, in a nutshell, we need Wiseman to be this guy, or find a buyout guy that can help in the playoffs against huge front courts like the Suns and the Jazz.

They have enough. They just need 3 things:
1. health
2. no corona hits at the wrong time
3. Steph to find his shooting touch

If they do that, the only team toppling them is a healthy, fully vaxed Nets team.

Warriors are never going to play that way, ever. And it makes no sense to go big vs the Jazz, their kryptonite is vs small ball. Wiseman just needs to be solid enough to keep Ayton humble, but honestly he can go off and Suns can still get picked apart.

If Wiseman comes back with the same bouncy athleticism that he had before he got injured but also has added 15 pounds of muscle and half of Looney's basketball IQ we would have an above average backup center who could block Ayton's shots.

I don't really expect Wiseman to have half of Looney's basketball IQ. You have to play to get that. Film study alone won't do it and it shoukd take longer than one year to learn what Looney understands.

But still an improved Wiseman would be a nice addition.

Cut Chiozza. I trust Payton plus one of Draymond or Iguodala to accomplish whatever Chiozza was supposed to be doing. Then sign Chiozza to Santa Cruz to stop him from signing in China so we can bring him back if Payton gets injured. We are not winning the champoinship if Curry gets injured.

Sign Tacko Fall to a 2 way contract. If anybody gets injurred then sign Tacko for the playoffs. Tacko may not be an NBA level player but he might be a nice gimmick defender for 2 minutes per game.

Not a bad idea except that he is playing for the Bucks.
Edit, the Bucks waived Boogie on Jan 6.
Sign Cousins as a coach. Then if anybody gets injured sign him as a player.

Except he might be even more dangerous to have coaching someone than playing.

I want a strong guy for Wiseman to practice beating strength with speed. We might already have Zaza doing that job.

I read that Nuggets will sign him to a 10-day contract.

Who beats them? They were doing pretty well last season before Kyrie got injured.
