Two RJ Observations:

1) He’s willful. Guys get on him for getting stuffed at the rim. But tell me of any other player who would keep going to the rack like him after getting rejected? I’ll tell you. Almost none. RJ is figuring it out, but even when he gets burned he’ll still come back at you. The guy is a competitor and when he matures, tell me, how are you going to stop a guy with this kind of will? You won’t.

2) Tonight’s game was probably the best performance by a Knick in a decade or more. I know he’ll have to do the same against Golden State to be legitimized, but honestly that was star quality stuff. Randle was consistent last year and it got him the AS nod, but he was never this good. This was BASKETBALL, not just being a tough shot maker. RJ owned the floor by playing all facets of the game. IOW, if he can do this now, what could he do once he gets rolling and consistent? Maybe he can be that guy for us. It was impressive.

I don’t understand the Randle criticism today. He did exactly what people on this board wanted him to do. He didn’t have it so he deferred to his teammates, got rebounds and moved the ball. Can the fans not nitpick his game and live or die on every shot Randle takes? Like enough is enough. Why is it so hard to root for every player on this team? There always has to be a scapegoat for why we are playing bad.

You can feel the amount of pressure every time Randle gets the ball, it’s like the fanbase is waiting on him to f*ck up so they can boo. No other player in the league is getting that kind of energy from their home fans. It’s no wonder Randle is playing reserved lately. Let’s just keep it moving and head to the next game, all this drama is distracting.

Thw fans cheered him during intros hes lucky they didn't boo. They gave him a fresh start, hit his first shot didn't boo him for rhe next 4 or 5 bricks. What they booed about was his ass play combined with him giving up out there. He didn't just let his teammates go off, he did it in spite. That's what I saw.

You saw a guy THRILLED to see his teammates blowing out the spurs rooting them on? Did he dap RJ on his wsy to the scorers table? Nope. Did he encourage Obi when he ran to the bench with 3 minutes left in the game? No bc he clearly has an issue not being the guy or st least when he's not playing well. Any way u see it I dont want that type of guy on my team.

Everyone other player encourages eachother and goes nuts when they succeed. i ddont see that with Julius. Hope hes playing himself out if NY and the fans keep chanting OBI and RJ with more ferocity.

You’re not seeing what most of us see which is a guy who is only content when he is the center of attention. Randle goes into a funk when it is not about him or when things don’t go his way. He shows zero happiness from winning in games in which his contributions were the lesser factor. He has severe anti-leadership qualities. Basically, he’s toxic.

So stop kidding yourself about the fans being the cause of the toxicity. They’re just mirroring the energy of Randle.

Yes. It’s really basic. We don’t even demand success

No other fanbase is getting this kind of energy "best" player. Julius sloppy play, poor body language and lack of effort this season put him in this position...not the fans.

He’s literally playing exactly the same as last year except he is missing shots. His defense has actually been better lately, (held his matchup to 4 points tonight) but no one cares because he is bricking everything.

Turnovers suck, but he isn’t even top 10 in turnovers in the league and he is also leading our team in assists.

Body language is whatever. Fans try to play arm chair psychiatrist, but yes it is obvious Randle is frustrated about the season and the way he is playing.

Other players have been terrible too. Tatum, Beal, Fox, etc. are all having terrible seasons, but the fanbase isn’t singling those players out and booing them or celebrating when they have Covid.

Again I’m not even a huge Randle fan, but as a human being, it must be a slap in the face for Randle to have the fanbase turn on him so quickly after the way he played last year. (Especially since they were just as bad to him his first year in NY and had “apologized” for the way they treated him)

All of these stupid people who post Randle’s stats after every game are getting annoying

Do any of these morons ever see how Randle ONLY cares about getting the easy defensive rebound to pad his stats?

Do any of these morons ever notice how Randle NEVER runs upcourt for an outlet pass because he’s always hunting for that easy board?

Do any of these morons ever notice how Randle just doesn’t give a gaddam crap about getting back on defense?

He’s a fraud. Time to tell all of these fraud fans to piss off

We have also won 6 of the 7 games that Randle has played in since Christmas.

It’s not even about win/losses anymore, people are just trying to find ways to complain about things every game.

DUH. RJ has had one sub-par game in that stretch. He’s been the consistent star of the team in those wins, not Randle

No, it is not whatever. It is who you are to your teammates and to the public. No psychiatric jive required to suss out a malcontent who doesn’t give effort or care about his teammates.

If I worked in the same office as you and you made faces at me and whined about me not helping you do your job while I had to do OT to cover for you because you don’t want to put in any effort EVERY DAY for months why would I care if you were once employee of the month last year?

And if you honestly think he’s playing exactly like he was last year except he’s missing his shots then how can we take your opinions serously? He was a plus defender last year. He gives up on plays, sometimes all game long.

Seriously, your arguments are getting absurd

If Randle hit 3 of his first 6 shots you think he would of kept passing? Y’all funny af. 20 shots minimum next game 100%. Especially since it’s against Dallas.

If RJ had 2 points 7 rebounds 4 assist and Randle had 30 and 10, he would of been getting crucified in here.

Stop the selective propaganda. That man wanted no parts of shooting the ball.

People were chanting Randle sucks chants in the middle of the game. Sorry he wasn’t smiling and dapping people up while the fanbase was calling for his head

And Randle has always been a leader on this team. This revisionist history that Randle isn’t a team player is funny because last year everyone talked about how everyone was following Randles example with the last night workouts and how Randle was taking Obi under his wing.

Hell even this year when he was mic’ up we saw him encouraging Grimes to shoot and hyping up Kemba for a triple double.

The fact that this fanbase is trying to act the character of our leader because he is playing poorly is exactly the reasons stars don’t want to come here

No he wouldn’t have because he would be efficient so why should he stop then?? That makes no sense

He did exactly what you guys want him to do when he is off, move the ball and let others cook??

I’m out of here this fanbase is starting to lose its mind when it comes to Randle. Y’all don’t even know what you want from him so how is he supposed to know?

All that and still his team doesn't throw him under the bus. RJ, his perceived competitive rival, even stood up for him. We praise Ja morant , but what if RJ had the opportunity to be option #1 from day one? He might already be where many are projecting him to be in a few years.

that's a really good point. I think the knicks are going to have to choose between the two eventually, and they need to decide that ASAP. RJ is 21, he's going to have his ups and downs but you picked him 3rd. give him the keys.
