On the one hand, it would be a rush to get him down to Memphis, after being at Chase last night.

On the other hand, why the heck do you recall the guy from Santa Cruz, for this home game? With Klay back & Poole & Lee & Payton and Wiggins healthy, it was the one game that Moody was NEVER going to play in.

Plus, the Warriors are going to Memphis for tomorrow's game anyway. He could have stayed with the SeaDubs and then met the Warriors in Memphis.

Hopefully he'll play tonight, and I can ponder the travel arrangements at my leisure. But if not, it is a head scratcher.

Could have been just to have him around for the team event of Klay coming back.

Exactly right. Whether he would be playing or not, and things happen, you never know, there is value in being part of the team, especially for games like last night. Inclusiveness builds chemistry.

Relax guys. They are down in Memphis playing against their G League team now.

They are young. The flights are arranged to their schedule.

There is value to be around for Klay’s return, and witness.

Looks like Moody is lighting it up. 25 points after 3. Just checking out the gamecast and boxscore.

He ended up with 37 in an overtime win. Didn't watch the game but it's percentages looked good.

He should be playing over Damion Lee and JK should be our smallball 4 with Dray at the 5

Moody looking good in G-League, I just doubt he's going to get much run in the big leagues with Klay back, which is too bad, seems like he might be starting to turn a corner and figure things out a bit.

Kuminga had a horrible shooting game (3-12), 5 turnovers, and fouled out. Yuck. But...he had 8 rebounds and 8 assists, that's encouraging.

It would be cool if Moody & Weatherspoon had family/friends at the game

Dude was lit last night. Kuminga just looks too mopey out there. Bad attitude.
I was right about 3 point shooting. I expect to be right about Tacko Fall. Some coach will figure out how to use Tacko Fall. This movement towards undersized centers will sweep ng back. Back to the basket scorers will return to the NBA.

Moody should be getting at least 10 mins a game, give him Chiozza's and some of Lee's minutes, the upside here is well worth the risk, Chiozza/Lee are not going to make or break us here, but Moody getting minutes now might be huge for us in the POs

Steph / Poole / Gp2
Klay / Moody
Wiggy / Porter
Dray / Bjelica
Loon / Minga

honestly this should be our primary rotation, mixed in with Iggy, Wiseguy (if he ever comes back), and JTA as needed.

I'd give some Bjelica minutes to Moody as well. He just hasn't been that impactful for a while. OPJ has been pretty great. Honestly Looney/OPJ/JK is enough bigs and then throw in Wiseman for whatever sloppy seconds are left.

I think what we’re going to see for the rest of the year is ongoing rest / rotations for a number of players….. Kuminga (who absolutely looked “checked out” last night) has earned minutes, Moody deserves more opportunity, and it’s inevitable that they’re going to try to get Wiseman a lot of time. And the other 12 players on the main roster (not counting the 2-way guys) are all worthy of playing time. I don’t know that there’s another roster in the league where one could make the argument that all 15 players are playable and contributors.

So I think they’re going to manage it through regular rest. Probably every night, there’s going to be 3-4 players who get “DNP - Coach’s Decision” or “DNP - some made-up injury”, even though they could easily play. We’re already seeing it to an extent with Iguodala and Porter in particular; they’re obviously going to be cautious with Klay, so I bet he rests for probably 6-8 of the remaining games. Curry and Draymond will probably rest for 4-6 games. (Wiseman will probably also rest for 4-6 games, once he comes back.) My bet is that basically every game, there will really be 10-11 guys who play, and they’ll just work to keep everybody fresh through rest.

I do think the 3 guys who SHOULD probably get the least consistent amount of time are Lee, JTA, and Bjelica (who has really fallen off)….. and that the 4 young guys (Poole, Moody, Kuminga, Wiseman) should play every game. But we’ll see how it actually goes.

One hope is that they don’t rest the 3 “stars” (Curry, Klay, Draymond) simultaneously. Stagger them. Candidly, if they’re all resting, the likelihood of winning is much lower. Resting them one at a time shouldn’t be as impactful for our record, and honestly will allow them to try out a lot more lineups, which could really help at playoff time.
If I don't have anything funny to say, can I still have a signature?

I remember when Gilbert Arenas was a rookie, he got barely any playing time.

But apparently he was showing out in practices or full scrimmages.

He didn't get consistent playing time until the second half of the season, so you hope maybe Moody will get more playing time though with the Warriors' ambitions they're being stingy with minutes for the rookies (and I suspect they're taking their time on getting JW back to playing).

They don't even do as much full-time scrimmages these days, even if they have an extra day between games, right?

there was another second rounder before Arenas, who also didn't get much time at first but then played really well later in his rookie season and they lost him after a season or two as well.

I know that G League numbers are meaningless.

But those are some really nice meaningless numbers!

Moody per 36 on the GLeague season (8 games):

31/6/1
2,7 stocks
47/37/89

Historically wise, if a very young player kicks ass in the GLeague, it's a very good indicator that this player will soon be ready to a greater role (a good rotation piece or a low end starter, let's say at least) in the next step (NBA).

I remember following Clint Capela back when he was a rookie (2014/2015 season). He barely played. Houston sent him to the GLeague. He averaged 16/10 on 60% FG + 3 blocks (in 24 minutes!) and in the next season was a starter for Houston. I fully expect Paul Reed (Sixers) to follow this path as soon as he gets consistent minutes (22/12/2 on 59% FG + 3,8 stocks last season, 20/13/4 + 3,3 stocks this season).

As for Moody, he really needs to improve his ballhandling, this will unlock his passing, giving him more playmaking duties.

I fully expect him to focus on that on the next 2 seasons; this will be the difference between him ending up being, let's say, a James Posey or a Paul George in the long run.

Moody was suppose to be the better shooter than JK. But so far they're both poor, though JK's mechanics look better and he's had a couple of good shooting games.

Moody was also thought to be possibly more ready than Kuminga. But JK may not have the wingspan of Moody yet he's a much better defender, plays with more energy.

Moody is young but so is JK. He's going to have to show more.
