DeAndre Ayton, Jalen Smith, Cameron Johnson, 3 first round picks, cash for Joel Embiid and Danny Green

Post#1 » by Lost Angel » Tue Jan 11, 2022 9:21 pm

the protection on the picks can be discussed but I’m thinking the first two are unprotected and the last one is lotto protected for their own pick only. Cash is 1M flat. PHX agrees to send the best selection they have in each respective draft.

Philly goes in a new direction and have many options, from trying to keep Ben to trading him for even more picks or younger talent.

Ayton
Harris/Smith
Johnson
Curry
Simmons

plus a plethora of picks and trade options

Embiid
Bridges
Green
Booker
CP3

Suns go after a big upgrade to create a monster big 3 to rival anyone in the league. Would be interesting to see how CP3 impacts Embiid’s game.

Is there a workable deal here with some tweaks?

No reason for PHI to consider this.

Do this, Fire Rivers, and then Simmons might actually come back to play

I think this is closer.

Booker, Ayton, 3 Unprotected 1sts and 3 pick swaps for Embiid, Danny Green

EVEN if Joel blatantly stated PUBLICALLY that he wanted out, it will STILL take more than this to get him.

If you think Morey is asking the moon for Simmons, just imagine Embiid.

I think at minimum it would take Ayton + Bridges + 4 FRP's
PM me if you can help a brotha finally get an AVI.

That's a workable deal. What else do you think needs to be added? Philly could also unload other salary and make put in Harris instead of Green.

I think this is actually fair, but I also think Ayton will be a top 5 center for a long time starting very soon. Plus he isn’t a injury risk like Embiid will be as Embiid gets older.

Also 3 first are 3 first, moving those and Jalen Smith would help flesh the Philly roster out.

For the Suns though this should make them instant favorites to win a championship.

I don’t think Philly wants to rebuild but this isn’t a bum offer if they were open to it.

Sixers are not trading Embiid at this time for anything or anyone.

Suns will not sabotage their established system to take on Embiid and basically CHANGE up the whole system. And vice versa with 76ers.

OP is nuts.

Suns would do OP in .1 seconds flat.

CP3-Booker-Bridges-Embiid could win a title 4 on 5

You don't turn down a trading your 4th best player for an all time great in his prime for "system" reasons

Better than OP.

That’s a haul.

Still, Embiid seems fairly content so it’s going to cost to get him. Maybe drop to 2 picks and 2 swaps.

No they wouldn't. You don't break up a finals team and championship contender and add all of your draft capital for one player, especially a fragile one.

Nobody wins a title on paper. The Suns system is predicated on two great guards in Book and CP, with rim runners, defenders and shooters to surround them. They went to the Finals last year with that system, and currently have the best record in the NBA. They may or may not win the title, but are certainly one of the top contenders.

They will not break that continuity for a hypothetically greater shot at the title. Embiid is the greater talent by far than Ayton + Cam or whatever, but the idea that he'd just come in, and the Suns would win the title is ludicrous. Suns would need to change their entire style, and that doesn't happen in half a season.

Contenders are built over like 2 years with continuity and chemistry and adding the right role players around your stars. By the time the Suns have that with Embiid, CP would have fallen off a cliff anyway. Not to mention that the Suns would be completely shorn of assets to add new role players.

Of course, Sixers would never entertain this offer in the first place, so this is just a pointless discussion.

That is ludicrous. The Suns would completely change the system to land a dude like Embiid. Players win championships, systems don’t.

He walks in the door from day one, is your best player and make the Suns a dynasty. You are delusional if you think differently than the Suns make that trade 101 times out of 100.

The Suns are trading for a Top 5 player in the league in the midst of his prime. The Suns are giving up a low-end all-star [Booker], an above average starting Center [Ayton] and 3 picks.
