1. Another team with a player on a meh contract who may fit better. I'm not sure this exists right now outside of Wall. May have to wait until the offseason.
2. Maybe try bringing him off the bench and give him less minutes. See if he can lead the bench unit.

A bag of snack size Lays Regular; they can't even get Doritos or anything decent.

Hard to see team seeing Westbrook as a championship piece at this point. The one team that could get duped is Philly. It'd need to be a 3 or 4-team deal and they'd be moving both Simmons and Harris, but it is something I could see. Say, something like:

Sacramento gets: Simmons, Jordan, and Nunn

Philadelphia gets Westbrook, Barnes, Bagley, and draft considerations

Lakers get Harris and Tristan Thompson

Not practical.

Just to make up the gap between their cap space and Westbrook's salary he'd have to send a whole bunch of players.

Oklahoma's roster is entirely made up of rookie deals, vet minimum deals and partial MLE deals.

Orlando trades all their veterans for *multiple unprotected picks down the road.

Something like Westbrook (which agrees to a buyout of some form allowing him to sign with a contender of his choosing).

X2 future unprotected FRP’s (not swaps, actual picks doesn’t matter how distant).

For

Gary Harris
Terrence Ross
Robin Lopez

All who would contribute from day 1 in a Lakers uniform. Two of them should actually start from day 1.

Orlando has a surplus of cap space next year and could afford absorbing the albatross contract for a season.
PM me if you can help a brotha finally get an AVI.

The Lakers need Westbrook to win it all, don't be blinded by stats.

No one should trade with the Lakers, let Russ play out his contract there.

In what universe do the Spurs with Pop trade with the Laker?

Can we be serious here. Laker fans are suffering. Never have Laker fans hated a Laker team so much as this 2022 squad.

Nope because within 5 years you're probably going to have another star want to go LA and you guys will be good. So suck it now! lol

If the Lakers do succeed in dumping Westbrook, Dennis Schroder is available.

How tho, his whole roster combined barely equals WB's salary

EVen as a Lebron fan it’s fun watching him die with his idiocy. If he appreciated role players over star names he’d have more titles. Imagine a wiggins trade that brought back 2 top tier non star starters who could defend and shoot....cavs would’ve won 15 and 16

And if the lakers brought everyone back they’d be in great shape with a team full of solid role players and guys who’s contracts can aggregated for an upgrade (and a rookie with some value).

Lebron is his own worst enemy bro

He's probably the most untradable player in the NBA right now, so most likely nothing. No team is going to trade for him because they think he'll help them win, so the Lakers only avenue is to find a team looking to offload an even less desirable contract, and those don't really exist.

KP maybe? 3 years/$101 million vs Westbrook's 2 years/$91 million. It gives Dallas a chance to sign Jokic outright in 2023.

I was thinking about Porzingis as well here.

It's his dream. Trade his entire roster for Westbrook and wait for him to expire while only signing minimum players around him and trading all his picks for picks years down the line. First team to ever just restart completely. Entire salary cap available with hundreds of draft picks.

Horford + Smart for Westbrook + Nunn.

Boston would have to try and convince Westbrook to be a 10/10/10 guy and not worry about scoring the ball.

The only way it works is if OKC keeps SGA but trades away everyone else. https://basketball.realgm.com/tradechecker/saved_trade/7513315
