Boucher + LP FRP for Poeltl is a really good deal for both sides IMO.

Poeltl is an ideal fit in TOR, and his FT issues can be mitigated as TOR likely runs Pascal at C late in the game.

The challenge with a deal is keeping Raps under LT and the Spurs dont have to waive anyone.

Boucher/Bonga/2022 lottery protected 1st for Poelt/2022 2nd I think makes sense. The Spurs would have to waive someone though or try to deal a Brynn Forbes into a TPE

Funny because that doesn't keep us under LT since we have to add another contract to get to 14 man

OG is too much. Boucher, Dragic and a 1st might be too little.

Trent makes sense, but he's one of the only people on the Raptors that can shoot.

He seems to valuable to the Spurs at the moment especially with another team friendly year left on his current deal for a late teams FRP.

Toronto shouldn't be moving an FRP to get a season and a half of Yak on a great deal before he becomes a UFA in the same summer you are having to likely re-sign GTJ and FVV.

That deal I do in a heartbeat even though I know Masai won't give up on Precious this soon.

well the spurs is not going to let him for free. raps want him they need to meet the price.
Doncic will be goat. Lauri will be his sidekick.

I think if he gets back Poeltl and it's an either/or from the Spurs end, I think he may.

My ideas was Dragic + Flynn for McDermott + Poeltl

I don’t think that would be enough. That’s hardly any incentive at all for San Antonio

Gets them out of the McDermott deal and a PG prospect. Probably would include a 1st in that if needed.

Why would they want to get out of that deal, he is hitting his career avg, he is doing the same thing that he has avg and what SA expected. SAS needs another PG, why?

Spurs-Pacers-Raptors

Spurs out: White + Keldon + Poeltl + thad Young
Spurs in: Sabonis + Dragic + Raptors top 4 protected 2022 1st

Pacers out: Sabonis
Pacers in: White + Keldon

Raptors out: Dragic + 1st
Raptors in: Poeltl + Thad Young

I dont quite like the trade for the Spurs, really would like to get Kleber too some how I just don't see a good fit because I wouldn't want to add more value since it feels a little low already

Pacers fan suggested this trade earlier

Despite fans disgust at Mcdermott being on the team, he is doing exactly what he was hired to do. Just I can't believe he's statistically a worse defender than Bryn Forbes

I mean this seems like Dragic/Birch/protected 1st for Thad/Poeltl is an easy and obvious answer here. And yes its okay to give a non-lotto first for a terrific defensive center who doesn't space/make FT's. And in moving out Birch and losing their 1st its basically salary neutral for the Raps as I know some of their fans are super concerned about adding any salary.

Don't love GTJ going out. Spacing is already tough for this team. Any way you see it happening without any of the core going out?

I mean Poeltl is the starting C for the Spurs and GTJ is a bench wing on a healthy Raptor squad.

You have to give to get. I think it could probably be done with picks instead if Spurs are just trying to rebuild but it seems unlikely to me.

Please revisit your evaluation of GTJ. He started the few games the Raptors were fully healthy, looked great as they won, and they started another losing streak when he left the line-up due to injury. He is a young, quickly improving, a starter on a .500 team, and provides crucial spacing.

Agreed on not giving up Trent. It’d just be a lateral move when Toronto should be looking to improve on what they currently have.
