Michael Porter Jr. Could Return This Season

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Fri Jan 14, 2022 1:21 pm

Michael Porter Jr. has not been ruled out for the remainder of the season as he recovers from back surgery on Dec. 1st, a source told the Denver Post.

Porter and the Nuggets have been encouraged by his recovery.

Porter felt an immediate improvement as soon as the surgery was performed, a separate source said.

The Nuggets also hope to get Jamal Murray back before the playoffs. Murray tore his ACL last year.

Not worth the long-term risk and sensitive nature of back surgery -- especially given his astronomical contract.

Take the year off - get right & aim for next season.

There is no way Nuggets will get to WCF with Suns / Warriors / Grizzlies looming -- especially given recovering Nuggets roster.

I agree with you, but def think Jokic / a healthy murray gets you a good shot to go to the WCF. Just have to watch out for Warriors, not to worried on suns/grizz if I'm Jokic and the nugs.
