This was Gabe Vincent's last game with significant minutes before he mysteriously lost favor with Spo

This is Duncan Robinson tonight against the Sixers.

Doesn't seem fair that Gabe is being benched while Duncan is allowed to play like that.

And I don't know about you guys, but I definitely would've given Gabe some minutes with the way our guys were struggling. Only Yurtz, Caleb, and Herro were having good scoring games.

size maybe.... who knows,,,,

I would think most of us would point to last night's issue being 3 games in 4 days. Even if you didnt want to close with Gabe using Gabe's fresh legs earlier could have changed that game.

Maybe we lose that game straight up even if everyone was fresh, but it sure didnt look right in the moment.

It's certainly a mystery.

I don't think size has ever been an issue for Spo since he likes playing small.

That statline from Gabe I posted was against the Hawks. The next game (also against the Hawks), he only got 6 minutes. That's the game that entire bench was all in at once rather than how Spo has normally managed rotations (leaving at least one or two starters in).

I definitely agree would could've used his fresh legs last night.

I know people will point to the B2B, but the Sixers were on a B2B as well, and had played 3 games in 4 days. Plus, they were on the road.

Anyway, this Gabe situation is something to keep any eye on. We've struggled in the 2nd half of the last two games and with closing out. Maybe a few more minutes of rest or Gabe's scoring would've helped.

Sometimes good shooters get into slumps or have years where they don’t shoot as well. It’s just magnified more with Duncan since that’s by far his main use. I think if he did have a more well rounded game he would have got paid even more. Herro, for example, is going to be looking for a max deal. It’s nice that we have Strus on a cheaper deal for a while to offset Duncan’s contract though. When Duncan is hitting his 3s he can really change the game.

Guy exceeded all expectations, not only did he hit shots he also showed some surprisingly good passes and fought on defense.

Sucks about Garret, I like his potential. But with this current core, if you're a role player you better be a 3 point shooter. Which Garret is not at this stage. Hope we keep developing him tough.

For now, Guy showed he can help in spot minutes.

I was expecting this to be the way Guy would make the team. It’s unfortunate Garrett got injured though. Hopefully, Guy can make the most of his time with the team now. He was great for the most part when he played from what I remember. He fits in better with Butler and Bam.

Bam trade talk should be a bannable offense lol!

Duncan forgot how to shoot now that he’s eligible to be traded

I’m with it. Garrett has a lot of potential defensively, but was a black hole on offense. Guy offers offense, energy and for his size, he was actually a good defender with quick feet and being pesky.

i would trade him for a pair of good role players. yurt and dedmon fills all our CENTER needs right now. i'm afraid that he will spoil the chemistry with his return

We’ll thank god you’re not Pat Riley because that’s just absurd lmao. Trade a guy averaging 20-10-3 while being the best defender in the world and he hasn’t even hit his prime. I’m surprised you guys aren’t clamoring to trade Jimmy and Lowry because we have Gabe and Caleb

I’m assuming a 1st is going to the kings as well in this.

Thoughts? Would you rather get Barnes back?

I think I do too tbh. He’d be a great addition to the bench if we want to keep a high volume 3 point shooter like Strus in the starting lineup. I’m fine with him starting or off the bench though. He’ll bring defense, shooting, scoring, rebounding etc.

Duncan/KZ/Vincent for Malik Beasley and either Naz Reid or Josh Okogie?

or the same package for Barnes

Both solid moves for us

the problem with bam is that he is too passive and undersized as a center so he gets abused often by taller centers. his passivity on offense doesnt help his case.

he needs to grow a pair and be more assertive as a center, otherwise the heat is not going anywhere with him playing soft basketball

That would be cool if the Heat could somehow get Caleb Martin's twin brother Cody Martin on the team. They would be fun to watch on the same team again. They have both been improving a lot since coming into the league. Heat have too many players as it is though. The Hornets could use a center like Dedmon maybe.

If you can make that trade, you jump on it.

We can always trade Buddy Hield later on to get under the tax. MUCH more easier than trading Duncan.

I don't know why the Kings do it, though. Even if teams don't beat our offer (which shouldn't be too hard), what incentive do they have taking on Duncan's contract for what is essentially a FRP?
