Melo is HORRIBLE. Just kills any semblance of being a defensive team.
What is he doing in the game at this point when we need stops? He can't even knock down open 3s so there's really nothing he provides.
The last few scores in this key stretch have all been on his defensive lapses.

Russ was horrible all game. Not the usual Russ horrible, but just didn't provide ANYTHING. 1-11 from 2. Hit a few miracles threes. 3 rebs, 2 assists (but JUST 1 TURNOVER DOE).
Melo killed us late in the game. I don't blame him for missed 3s (**** happens) but the in the key stretch he gave up so many points. That one Levert 3 where Melo just backed off because **** knows what he's doing was so deflating. Dafuq was he doing in the game.
Horrible, horrible game management. Need more Dwight, Stanley, Reaves - guys that actually play hard. There was stretch where our bench mob was actually building a lead. Just awful game.
Only positive is that we had the balls to bench Russ's broke ass towards the end.
Vogel needs to go.

Good lord and you want to give Carmelo minutes in the playoffs. I think the Lakers legit signed net negative personnel at every position this summer. Also illustrates why I don't like on/off or with/withouts for bench roleplayers. If Melo is permitted a larger sample every game he's dead guaranteed to finish net negative. It's basically the per 36 of team stats.

We really can't play Melo period. He kills the defense and is constantly targeted. If we wanna be a "defensive" team he can't get minutes.
I have to give him credit for being much less a ball-stopper than he used to be, but whatever awesome 3s he makes he gives up on the other end just as easily.
No reason any of Stanley / Reaves / Monk shouldn't be getting minutes over him.
The Russ benching was a positive sign for me. Slowly reduce his minutes.

Russ was awful. No way to explain why he's been so bad from 2 recently. It's weird

Assuming this is the end, what a banger of a quote to leave on.

between the carmelo and Westbrook signing I'm so disappointed in Lebron/Laker's recruiting last summer. Career losers who are even bigger playoff problems in their decline. Total overreaction to the phoenix series. Did he not see how good they were in the latter rounds? He even attended finals games. or was it some misguided attempt at replicating the kind of help Chris Paul had? Also lakers lose the Jazz game if carmelo played because he'd have been put in ahead of stanley johnson and crushed by the jazz pnr offense.

Moving Danny Green and Jaden McDaniels (pick 28) for Schroeder was sneakily the biggest mistake Rob made.
Then second mistake was letting Caruso walk for nothing.
Third was not trading for Lowry.
Honourable mentions:
Westbrook trade and chasing Kawhi when Butler was keen to come over in 2019.
Not hiring Ty Lue might be the biggest one. He should've come with Lebron in 2018

Russ hit some 3s tonight (miraculously). Outside of that what does he even provide?

It doesn't make sense. He used to be a great finisher and recently it's like he's not an NBA player

Now is when you need a coach like Lue, now they have 3 ill-fitting expensive players

Hes actually never been a great finisher. Overrated for highlight dunks.
His Mvp season he was 57% at the rim and in 2016 it was 58%. Hes at 59% this season so far. 19-21 seem to be his only seasons above 60% and Rockets team with no Clint and then Washington stint he was playing all offense lineups with practically no big or postup man so it prolly inflated his percentage with how spaced everything was
He doesnt have the skill or craft of a Kyrie, Tony or the body control and poise of a Rose, Ja... Hes always had problems against traffic with his wreckless style. He has some explosive dunks like the Rudy one but that hides all the misses

That's high for a guard, I'd call that great. He's been as good as Kyrie the last 4 seasons and suddenly just stopped.

Omg did Frank really say that about WB? LOOOOL what a king man i love it. He's probably gone but that says it all. But no we got experts on realgm who knows better. Cant win with this guy he puts a cap on a team.
Team is terrible and it's honestly due to AD and Lebrons insisting on bringing WB in. Melo is arguably worse and i knew he would be. Argued with other laker fans about how this guy will kill us early in the season but was told im a fool because his shots were going in for a time. But when it doesn't the floodgates open and you truly see how bad this guy is for a team.
God i hate this roster so much. Vogel should seriously start tightening up the rotations. Melo shouldn't see the floor.
Will we even make the playoffs lol?
