That's hard to do. Usually I copy a tweet to the clipboard and come here to paste it only to find you've already done it.Scoot McGroot wrote:Wizop wrote:snip

"Sabonis has received a ringing endorsement from Beal"
Good, so does he want to come join Pacers to play with Sabonis?

Ha Beal never has wanted to leave Wizards through all the trade talk about him.
If they deal him to them looking at their roster Kuzma is reasonably priced and Hachimura also. Maybe send Craig for a return draft pick also. I don’t like anyone else there.

Beal is another one of those guys who is a very good player, but his contract is lethal.

Washington can't really trade a #1 until their 2023 top 15 protected pick to OKC is settled. They could trade their 2025 pick but it could be pushed back year after year.

Now Sabonis has an ankle injury so talks of trading him are probably up that creek also.

Washington can't give Kuzma.. but Rui/Deni/Harrell is a solid package on the boundary of rebuild/reset/reload..

lethal is a bit strong as it's a matter of philosophy. we've been doing down the 5 players in the high teens to low twenties track. some teams go down the one (or two) players in the thirties or forties track filling out the roster with "just guys." you could deal for a Beal but you'd have to downgrade several players. I like our approach.

I would do Turner + Brogdon for Rui + Avdija + picks if Brogdon were tradable

Re: Shams: Pacers Moving toward Rebuild; Receptive to Trade Talks
No trade will happen this deadline.
Too many injuries,
and our best players are on team friendly contracts.
If you check for players same age, same production, almost in all cases they earn a lot more.
So who is going to give up something for injured bigs?
Who in the whole world would want Levert if you check his off-nights.
Lamb and Warren play on their final year.
Warren can than be re-signed for a contract in the order of around 15m. There won't be a big market for him. So maybe even 10m will give you a deal with him.
I believe management will blame injuries for missing the play-offs. 37 games to go. As history shows the Pacers are never a quitting team, so I expect a result of around 32-50.
Next season I don't see many changes in our line-up. Maybe a small trade for Goga like the Aaron trade this off-season.
Sabonis gives a ton of stats, so that needs a special offer.
Turner has unique skills, so that needs a special offer.
Levert is a sixth man, but a starter unfortunatelly with us. Who will trade for him?
Brogdon wants to be a pg will in stead he is a good baller, but not a leader and not a distrubuter. I see him getting traded the most easily, but management just gave him an extension.
So only case something happen in the off-season is if Carlisle wants different players, but he looks to me the stubborn coach who believes that if the players get more used to him, he will get more out of the players.

I didn't stay up but isn't it fair to say that he won the game for us last night? I've been wanting to trade him for a better passer but the best case scenario would be for him to learn to fit the role that we need him to fit.

Re: Shams: Pacers Moving toward Rebuild; Receptive to Trade Talks
I don't really love seeing guys sit out when they are healthy enough to play, but I also recognize we would probably be in a better trade position if we had been giving Goga and Jackson more development time. Both of those would be good things.

While Harrell is playing well currently he’s an expiring so he’d bolt to a playoff team most likely next season. Plus we’re pretty stocked in bigs.

I know he's expiring, that's the point. Deni is a 2/3 and Rui is a 3.5/4. They're young and on rookie contracts. You could do worse.
