Re: Trades and Transactions, 2022 Edition
Randle can be valuable for the right team in the right circumstances. He can be a star player like he did in the past season. And he is locked in a long-term deal.
We can take a team like the Wolves as an example. With a Dlo, Edwards, and Towns core, they do not have cap space to get another fringe star and need a trade to get him. Their next draft picks must be outside the lottery with little value in trades. A couple of seasons from now Towns will ask for a trade. They need to be a contender soon. Like all small markets, it's tough to keep the player beyond their current contract. It's rare when a youngish fringe all-star locked in a long contract is available for a trade for a reasonable price.

I’d do it for either one, mainly because it gets Randle and Burks off the team, but not sure which I would pick if given the choice.
Fox is better, Simmons is straight trash.

There are very few teams that should look into taking the next step and that are in position to incorporate Randle as part of their outlook:
Boston (for Horford and picks or Timelord)
Portland (for Simons as someone suggested, along with Nance and a filler)
Lakers (along with Fournier for Westbrook & the 2027 pick that was mentioned here earlier)
Washington (for KCP, Aaron Holiday and picks)
Minnesota (for whatever salary fillers and picks)
LAC for (Bledsoe and Mann)
But that may already be it. Denver, Utah, GSW, Brooklyn, Phoenix, Bucks, Bulls, Heat are all capped out with (/ or have) nothing to offer.

In the summer S&T for RFA and UFA’s also become available. The FA market is sparse too so some guys might be considered worth more.

I think we should let kemba go. Trade him to the suns for an injured dario and a 1st. Suns get another pg option for when (not if) cp3 goes down. Knicks get a pick

They’d need to be sure that this is not a fluke. Cole looked great too recently, then hit the sophomore wall.
But you’re right. At least they’d wait until the summer and of course ride the season out with Simons.

Re: Trades and Transactions, 2022 Edition
Randle for Aaron Gordon + Denver first round pick
The deal could be extended to include some role players here and there.
Denver could be a viable destination for Randle---he could work well as a sidekick for Jokic and third option behind Jokic and Murray. A trade around Aaron Gordon (strong defender) that can guard multiple positions and is ok on offense + a Denver first round pick may be something both teams consider. Especially since Gordon is also signed longterm (4years/86mill.) so Denver wouldn't be taking on a whole lot of additional salary.

Re: Trades and Transactions, 2022 Edition
Trade Kemba for some 2nds
Trade Fournier over the summer in a S&T for Sexton or Brunson
Trade Obi for a late lottery 2022 pick (draft two plus defenders with upside in 2022)
come back next year with an aggressive team on both sides of the ball and they should be in the playoff hunt again.

Good question but I think he is. Despite Randle's struggles the coaching staff has done a bad job putting him in a position to succeed and management has done a bad job finding pieces that fit with his game. Of course a big portion of the blame falls on Randle himself.

Re: Trades and Transactions, 2022 Edition
If the FO plans on keeping Randle around then they need to make a trade for a stretch 5 period. Randle won't succeed here with the current set-up. There is rarely a clear path to the basket available for him and he does not have the shooting ability to succeed from the perimeter. Teams double team him and crowd him and he can't counter that. Keeping him around while making no change in the set-up and roster will only further decrease his value and make a bad situation worse.
Christian Wood is the only stretch 5 that comes to mind that would be available and attainable without giving up a lot.

And then u lose the entire defense to accommodate a horrible fit for a player that is starting a stretch of double double and DOMINATING on defense, the glass and on offense every single night.
Would prolly stop watching for awhile until the team found a direction.
Do people really think Randle would be amazing if we had a stretch 5? He'd still get stripped bc he has no handle

I personally would look into trading Randle, I just think that management should commit in one direction or the other. Right now almost nothing fits really.

That’s why some folks wanted to take a look at Turner. Elite shot blocker like probably top 2-3 in the game so the defense wouldn’t take a hit and can also hit 3s on occasion. Rare skill set

Yea he's a great player/shot blocker just don't think he's a great defender/rebounder enough to move the needle over Mitch bc he has a 3 ball and can give us more space.
Some people severely underestimate the impact Mitch has on our overall team. Players are FINALLY starting to find mitch. It's such a beautiful thing to see, will make us such a better team incorporating ALL our players
