I don’t want to trade any of our homegrown talent right now. They all show promise if we develop them correctly.

Homegrown’s alright with me
Homegrown is the way it should be
Homegrown is a good thing
Plant that bell and let it ring

Minnesota could be interesting trade partner for Randle If they take back Evan as well. I happily trade both Randle and Evan for Russell and salaries to match. Maybe they throw in draft pick

Could be a bargain if we can pay him in crypto. If we wait long enough, we’d probably end up paying him less than the vet minimum.

Quick question. Would you want Naz Reid as your starting C? His upside is he is a decent 3 point shooter, emerging shot blocker, and great inside. His downside is his rebounding, and lateral quickness.

Naz Reid was one of the dark horses that I mentioned the Knicks should look at in the 2019 draft. As far as him as a starting C? Not sure he's any more of a starting C than Nerlens Noel is. Both guys have their good and bad. I do like Reid though and would love to have him on the team. I think if we keep Mitch that he'd be a better counterpart than Noel would be. He's definitely a whole lot cheaper than Noel that's for sure.

The Timberwolves are a tale of two teams. There is the solid 3 point shooting Wolves who are competitive with any team on any night, and then there are the bad shooting nights where we have too few scorers. Naz doesn’t play wel with KAT and KAT is playing a lot of minutes this year, so he is essentially wasted on our bench. I want us to acquire a difference making big like Randle and to use Naz Reid as well as draft capital the centerpiece of that deal. You guys would either have a new starting C or backup C who would be competing for the role. That said, Randle is your best player and I think we would probably need a third team to pull of any deal unless of course you guys are rebuilding in which case you would probably want the draft capital and expiring assets.

 Because he's trash. I take Burks over him 10 times out of 10, no debate. And I'd trade Burks in a heartbeat.

Randle and Kemba to the Kings for Barnes and Davion Mitchell?

Marci said he checked with Cleaning The Glass and found that Randle was the most inefficient/high-usage player in the NBA right now. If that doesn't say it all. @18:13

Dinwiddie is horrible. High-usage player who can't shoot.

Which means...

I think we should do something like:

Julius Randle and Kemba Walker

for

Naz Reid, Pat Beverly, Taurean Prince and a couple of future protected first round picks

We won't, but we should.

Leon is gonna give us a great big belated Christmas gift in the form of forcing Thibs hand by the trade deadline. Some combination of Randle, Burks, Noel, Kemba and Rose will be sent packing. I don't want to see any kids let go.

I really like Thibs ability to coach in general, but he has to be one of my least favorite coaches when it comes to rotations and learning how to adjust on the fly. And all of us see how he treats Obi and the young guys in general, though at least Grimes is getting minutes (though he is way better than Fournier on defense and his 3pt shot. Fournier is more of a 3 level scorer, in theory anyway.)

Thibs ain't going no where, so embrace this years tank - barring Leon's upcoming gift to the team.

He's who I wanted last year so we don't end up committing to Noel long term

Oh well

IDK why but Thibs loves Noel but I think Naz could be more impactful

Empty the treasure chest for Haliburton. Perfect fit with franchise cornerstone RJ.

Overpay. IDC. We're not going to attempt a long term solution in the draft or in FA. It's time to FINALLY address the starting PG position and this kid checks off so much of what I want in a PG.

It's time to swing for the fences for a long term piece as we build towards contention down the line.

Nope just as the backup. I came across him last year as I was trying to find a non popular 35% 3PT shooter who also averages 1 BPG from the big man slot.

Another option the Knicks could go who's fallen out of favor is PJ Washington. He too fit that criteria last year.
