What’s the absolute cap for you on what you’d give?
Quickley/Toppin, our pick this yr. If he's worth more than that you bail. I like Haliburton. I wish people listened to me as I told everyone the Knicks need to draft him but I'm not giving up the world to fix my mistakes. Just do better next time.
How do you know there will be a next time with this current roster?
And assuming you somehow do have the chance again, why wouldn't you pay the world to maximize your team IF you believe that much in this kid? Just to say "I didn't over pay"?
Well first of all I think that's a good package but second there's always a chance. Your opportunity cost isn't Haliburton vs nothing. It's Haliburton vs options that arise every single year. Before Haliburton there was Ball. There's even Fox. So never believe ANY trade is the must do trade unless you're talking about generational player which Haliburton even in me liking him is not. He's not potentially the best PG in the league, he's just a solid PG still in the prospect phase of his career. It's like when someone says "we have to draft a PG"
Meh, that's how you land Frank Ntilikina when there are better options at other positions. Don't be thirsty. You either trade from a position of power or you walk away. Everything in life is good at one price and bad at another.
