I blame that more on hopium. I love my family gatherings and having to hear about how great Randle is/knicks are. No lie, the only fandom as strong as NY sports fandom is southern university college football fandom. Both are irrationally invested

Frank Ntilikina is a great basketball player! :x

He just hasn't found the right situation yet. Plus, the Mavs have to undo all of the damage this organization "developmental coaching staff" did to him.

Well first of all I think that's a good package but second there's always a chance. Your opportunity cost isn't Haliburton vs nothing. It's Haliburton vs options that arise every single year. Before Haliburton there was Ball. There's even Fox. So never believe ANY trade is the must do trade unless you're talking about generational player which Haliburton even in me liking him is not. He's not potentially the best PG in the league, he's just a solid PG still in the prospect phase of his career. It's like when someone says "we have to draft a PG"

Meh, that's how you land Frank Ntilikina when there are better options at other positions. Don't be thirsty. You either trade from a position of power or you walk away. Everything in life is good at one price and bad at another.

We weren't in a position to get Ball or Fox so using either as an example doesn't make sense.

Roster construction isn't buying a car. You're doing this to compete for a championship, not get from point A to point B, which any car will do. Also you have the window to maximize the opportunity now before you pay some of these young guys. Adding pieces will only get harder with a bloated ledger.

If you believe Hali is a big piece toward that puzzle, I pay the price. Everyone is so desperate to not overpay but then hate it when they have one of the worst starting PGs in the league for decades. That's how you end up with Duhon, then Felton, then Douglas, then Felton, then Calderon, then Payton, then an aging Kemba. We are forever trying to put bandaids out there when having a floor general is the most important part to a team's success.

I'm just saying at different times and maybe even now in Fox's case, there have been "the PG you have to get". The moment Haliburton is traded to another team besides us or stays put, I'll come back to you and you'll have like 3 other contingent options for me. I mean, am I wrong Dakomish? I'm sure you have your Dejaunte Murry scenarios all worked out, your Rick Brunson scenarios all worked out. One could even argue that Brunson fits our roster better

Also my window isn't to make this team better with Julius on it. In fact I don't even think the Haliburton you believe we'd be trading for would look like the Haliburton you know upon coming to the Knicks BECAUSE of what we do with Randle. Randle sucks the life out of PGs cause he IS the PG. You think I wanna watch Haliburton play off ball while Julius spins into crowds?

It's like, I get what you're saying cause man I REALLY like Haliburton. You can track my posts leading up to that draft. I was arguing with people telling me he wasn't a real PG. But I say that about someone every yr and so do you. Make your pitch and you move on.

Now I do agree with you that something must be done but I think there are many things to be done and Haliburton is just one of many scenarios.

We’re going to have to agree to disagree on this. I just can’t let us pass on talent, especially in the backcourt, anymore b/c it costs too much.

But after tonight and with our upcoming schedule, I could be a 100% wrong about us not getting a chance to get someone

Halliburton has me very excited. More so than any possible guard that’s been mentioned here in a long time. I just really appreciate his floor game
