Portland accepts reality and clears the decks. Harris, Covington, Nurk & possibly Powell are moved in follow up moves which i’m happy to hypothesize if anyone cares. Favors bought out. Build around Simons, Maxey, Thybulle + a treasure chest of picks and if THT & Muscala stick so much the better.

LAL in: McCollum

Trying to bolster the Utah defense, is there a deal with Dallas for DFS with any of Ingles/Clarkson/maybe Bojan that works and can be balanced with 2nds? Using OKC and the Dallas TPE to make salaries work. Something like this:

DAL In: Ingles/Favors
DAL Out: Powell/DFS

OKC In: Powell
OKC Out: Favors

Utah In: DFS
Utah Out: Ingles

Likely some minor value needs to go to OKC, but where is Dallas at? Are they interested in any of the Utah guys in the range of them +2nds/fringe prospect for DFS or no?

I have Dallas downgrading twice here and burning the TPE. And DFS is a player they almost certainly want to re-sign to a multiyear deal. That probably isn't the case with Ingles.

I wouldn't make this swap for 2nds.

Presumably no interest in Clarkson or Bojan in that slot either then?

And interesting, I'd still had Favors as a marginal uprade to Powell.

I'm becoming a Powell homer I think.

But mainly I'm talking about Dallas specifically. Luka is a PNR guard and Powell is a terrific PNR big. And on defense Favors is almost certainly a better defender, but Powell's mobility really helps playing next to KP since Dallas switches all screens. So for Dallas I think Powell has more utility than Favors would.

I'm okay with you or everyone thinking in a vacuum Favors is better. Powell is a limited player for sure. Just his limits pair nicely with how Dallas plays.

As a Raps fan (who got to do security for Raptors meet and greets, Norm included) Stormin' Norman is an easy dude to homer for. Plays hard, shows up in the moment, great locker room guy, and having met him as I said, really good vibes - chill as all hell. Asking me, who's just there to make sure nobody hassles him, how my day was going and what I was going to get up to with my weekend.

I like what GTJ's been providing, and his defensive growth has been impressive, but I still miss NP.
