Caruso would have helped out Westbrook a lot on the defensive end. Caruso would be a starter and the obvious POA defender.

Westbrook, Caruso, Monk, LeBron, Davis would have been a great 5.

Durability might be a serious concern for Caruso thats not talked about enough. Hes only played over 60 games in 1 season

Misleading. The first two of those seasons he was a two-way guy who was in and out of the rotation, and the next two were 72-game seasons. Even this season, some of his missed games were due to COVID and now he's out because of a dirty play by Grayson Allen.

LeBron in 2022 is shooting: 3-10 feet 49% (career best), 10-16 feet 45% (career best), 16-23 feet 40.5% (2nd best) at 36/37 years old

he is not only good for lebron, he is legit good overall from midrange now, better than league average by a pretty decent margin

btw lakers should consider signing goran dragic

I feel it's a semi guarantee that he's going to the Mavs once traded/bought out.

Its really not, unless the Spurs go on a run. I said this in another thread but now is actually the perfect time for LeBron to rest his body. He may not even be seriously injured at all.

As things look, its unlikely that the Lakers fall below 10th over the next few games. So they'll be a play-in team.

Now if Bron is actually suffering a bit and needs to miss ten games, or AD isn't quite right or some combo, then the season is more likely to be in jeopardy.

Yeah I personally wonder if this could be planned, it's perfect for him to get an extended rest inclusive of ASB. He also can miss the travel games and just chill. Effectively he gets a full 4 weeks off if he comes back only after ASB.

It also pushes up Westbrook trade value as he takes on the team load.

How teams play after ASB is what defines the playoffs.

you make up injuries or exxagerate pain as a excuse to avoid back to backs or take off some games

not a Extended absence of 6-10 games, that is almost definitely a real injury

and i actually would be a bit worried about the spurs tbh, their srs is literally better than lakers at 0~ they are on od the most underpwrforning teams of all time record wise

the dangerous part of that? if they have just been super unlucky in close games then a return to the mean and closer to .500 is not impossible

I am not buying it.

LeBron’s main focus seems to be securing that all time scoring title. There is no way he would just give away 10 or so games this late in the chase.

This is a real injury (or some type of protocols/ suspension coverup, if you’re into tinfoil).

i dont think is a fake injury but the reason why i think the "fake injury for rest" theory makea no sense is that lakers are not in a position to afford it

and resting for 8-10 games is counterproductive, you are not taking a needed break of a couple games at that point so much as losing all rythim you had

Only 7 players have contested at least 130 shots at the rim that weren't post-ups this season (PPP Allowed) -

1. Myles Turner (0.9)
2. Jarrett Allen (0.94)
3. Rudy Gobert (0.96)
4. Jakob Poeltl (1.0)
5. Nikola Vucevic (1.07)
6. Domantas Sabonis (1.08)
7. Mikal Bridges (1.16)

Yes, this is me not so slyly bringing up Myles Turner again.
