I am really high on Ojabo too.

I would hope we either end up with some combination of Hamilton/Ojabo/Neal/Ekwonu with our first 2 picks.

The only guy I'm not sold on is Hamilton. Really good talent I just safeties don't have the positional value worth taking in the top 10 in the draft. Also we have a few good ones already too. Same way I feel about taking a corner that high as well. You can get corners via FA too. And the giants have spent there as well.

I would probably add Cross to the list as well for O-line.

For defense I like Ojabo/Dean/Devin Lloyd...(most of those would probably be trade down situations. Where we pick Neal/Cross/Ekwonu with the 1st pick.

I know people love Linderbaum because he is the best center prospect in a while. I just don't know if I can justify taking a center that high. Tackles or Guards please.

I understand what you're saying about Hamilton, but I'm still feeling very much burned by not taking Parsons, and think if you can take potentially the best player in the draft, you really have to consider it.

I hear you on that I just don't see Hamilton having anywhere close to the impact of a Parsons. Parsons is a LB that can double as an elite edge rusher. Hamilton is a big safety that could double as a linebacker.

I see him more in the Isaiah Simmons/Tremaine Edmunds. Solid hybrid MLB with some coverage skills but both have been solid but nowhere near the impact of a Parsons.

I see guys like Dean/Lloyd having more of a impact closer to Parsons if you have seen those guys.

I saw Ed Reed when I watched the kid at ND, but I don't really disagree with what you said. I also loved Simmons coming out, so I have an affinity for that type.

I'll look more at Dean and Lloyd

I love me some Ed Reed. He is one of my favorite players ever to play in the NFL. Sean Taylor being another one. They were just heat seeking missiles.

Don't get me wrong Hamilton will be a really good player at the next level. Someone with his size and speed and closing ground. I just see him playing more in the box at the next level. Ed Reed had so much range and did it with his 5'11 range and could just change direction on a dime. I see Hamilton more a straight line box safety more than a in space FS. Sure he can play some of that because he has some wheels but I think like Simmons (who I also liked coming out of Clemson) he is basically identical to him more so then an Ed Reed IMO.

1. NAKOBE DEAN, GEORGIA
BIG BOARD RANK: 11
He may not be the physical prototype at 6-foot and 225 pounds, but no one plays the game faster at the linebacker position in college football. He’s earned a 91.9 pass-rushing grade and a 90.8 coverage grade this season.

2. DEVIN LLOYD, UTAH
BIG BOARD RANK: 21
There may be no better all-around linebacker in the class. Take on blocks, blitz, cover tight ends — it doesn’t matter because Lloyd can do it. It’s why he earned an 89.2 grade this year with above-average grades in every facet.

No doubt. Now you have some young offensive minds to help DJ along. Schoen needs to help them out with getting O-line help but its now up to DJ. And they need to improve the backup QB as well and get that giraffe looking idiot Glennon out the NFL.

Get a legit backup...maybe Mitchell Trubisky...all the connections are there. We have there assistant QB coach and OC now. Nee some competition for Jones.

Also like you said target our high paid WR. And I would like to see us use Toney like how the 49ers use Deebo. They have similar skills with the football in there hands (outside of Deebo having a bit more physical run style).

Kafka is 34 too...having a young OC will be very refreshing from the blah offense old man Garrett ran. And conservative JJ promoted another bum in freddie kitchens.

woudn't have minded him but i think his coaching career hurt him, there's no lateral moves in his career

he went as far back as being a gm/hc for an xfl team.

kafke is 34 and is part of the new breed of young oc's.

So, looks like it'll be Pederson, with Baalke as GM and Spielman as EVP, making Baalke's role essentially a figurehead

Best case scenario for us is Baalke keeps his head down and does nothing, with Spielman as De facto GM, then gets fired and replaced with a real GM (lol) in a year or so. Worst case is, Baalke starts leaking everything and whispering in Shad's ear, tanking the whole team, and getting everyone else involved fired

Why can't we just be normal?

Of Course he made a mistake. He doesn't look like Josh McDaniels.

I find it funny how its stated that numerous coach candidates did not want to work with Baalke, but the guy who makes the most sense for them and would have been a great story Is seen as the one who made the mistake. Byron wasn't the only one who didnt want to work with him that was a candidate.

It has become increasingly clear the biggest hang up in the Jacksonville Jaguars hiring a new head coach is the presence of Baalke still on staff. Baalke has earned a reputation in league circles as someone who is a snake in the front office, will fight for his own job security while throwing others under the bus, despite his poor track record as a general manager in the NFL.

There were reports early in the process that Baalke would hinder the Jaguars coaching search, including rumors that a lot of the Jaguars top targets for head coach had reservations working with Baalke and those reports and rumors pretty clearly have some validity to them as it has played out. The team had hoped people would agree to work with Baalke in the interim, but that’s a big reason the Leftwich situation has gone radio silent and seemingly at an impasse.

There was a near 48 hour period where there was absolutely no updates to the Jaguars coaching search or the status of Byron Leftwich, from anyone. Not from the national media, not from local media, and not anything from Twitter. I can personally state my sources went dead silent.

The Jaguars have interviewed Pederson, Leftwich, Jim Caldwell, Nathaniel Hackett, Kellen Moore, Todd Bowles, Bill O'Brien and Matt Eberflus for their head-coaching role, but some candidates reportedly are apprehensive about working with Baalke, most notably Leftwich.

Now it looks like a white GM and White Coach Combo will be allowed to happen in Jacksonville. Dude Spielman was just fired and already gets to bounce back that fast.

Here's what Garafolo heard from front office source:

"If Spielman had remained in Minnesota, the expectation was Doug Pederson was going to be high on the Vikings' [head coach target] list.

"Pederson interviewed with the Jaguars a second time this week. You see where I'm going with this? Potentially, the pieces coming together in Jacksonville."

I think a big blow to Flores' case is that the Giants didn't need to interview him to satisfy the Rooney Rule. They already did it with Graham and Frazier.

There was no valid or required reason for them to put on the charade, especially to the extent they did. That would be the only thing constituting anything close to racially based motivations.

If anything, Leslie Frazier has a better case.

I believe the Rooney Rule requires two "external minority" candidates so Flores does fill that. They really didn't need to interview Graham I believe. But I think they respect Graham enough even though he was the longest of shots.

It does hurt Flores' case that BB texted Flores by accident the day before Daboll even interviewed for the job in person. No team is going to offer a coach a job off a 20 minute zoom interview. So its seems like BB text was more hearsay coach talk then anythig concrete.

Also Mara went through a hole lot of prep work and time spent letting flores know they really liked his as a candidate just for a "check the box interview" so they could hire daboll.

Another interesting thing the giants stated is they have additional proof they didn't decide on the HC candidate until late on the 28th a day after Flores interviewed and the night after Frazier interviewed. If they have emails/voice mails ect offering the job or getting opinions on who they should hire that would be a big hit to Flores lawyers case.

I am glad the Giants are defending there actions because I would have been upset if they did conduct "sham" interviews. But Flores and his lawyers was the only story being told. I am sure he has dealt with discrimination in the past and as Tiki Barber said yesterday no one can tell someone there own truth so who am I to tell someone how they are suppose to feel (Flores has the right to be upset). But in this case the facts all point to the Giants conducting a thorough and legit coaching search and Flores was one of the finalists (a Mara favorite, which is probably why the claims are even more shocking). I think he took was too much from that BB text....but thats just me.
