Well I guess the question is what is considered real value.

Well that's rude.

thanks for letting me know what type of poster you are off the bat so I can just put you on ignore.

There’s not a lot a that makes sense for PDX. In the past I would’ve said Smart, but we need size. We also need someone that can contribute at a high level next season. Basically if we traded Norm, we’d want a player exactly like Norm back but a few inches taller.

What if we packaged CJ and Norm together with our lotto pick for Brown and Horford? I would guess Brown is untouchable, but a 2 for one plus a Lotto pick might approach the right value?

I feel like that is getting into a reasonable trade area, especially if that pick ends up closer to top 5 than 6-10.

Funny to go back to some of those B/R rumors...

* Norman Powell: Roughly a dozen teams pursued Powell ahead of last season's deadline, when Portland acquired him from Toronto. The 28-year-old's five-year, $90 million contract is considered relatively valuable among several league personnel polled by B/R.

Apparently, that return is what a "relatively valuable" contract gets you.

Of Keon Johnson develops a decent jumper he will be one heck of a player. He and Ant could be the most athletic back court in the NBA at times.

And Blazer fans are doomed for another half decade of a backcourt under 6’5” guards.

I think Cronin's words were, That they didn't want to tear it down completely, or tear it all the way down... something like that. Two starters... that's a pretty big, and early start. 6 days left, and they will be long and slightly painful as always. Still really hard to tell what direction we are headed.

I looked really hard at that very recent pic of Dame & Cronin (chatting on the sideline), as it made me wonder what it was they were talking about: Was it Dame saying he should trade away some guys not named Nurkic or CJ, along with, I'm ready to sign that extension... or could it have been talks about the possibility of him being sent to a championship caliber team vs. being here for what looks to be, at least a partial tear-down. Something like, "I'm so sorry Dame, but ownership really wants to go a different direction, They love their shinny NEW toy in Simons." I sooooooooooo wish I knew the answer to, What were they discussing?

Interesting side note, Cronin did do Powell a solid, by moving him to sunny Los Angeles where he played his college ball, and he gets to play for one of the best teams in the WC. Super rich owner / Fairly classy org.

IMO CJ is next to be dealt. Recent rumors have him going to either the Pelicans or Mavericks.
Now that we are under the tax, we better at least get some assets back for CJ.

I’m not sure the mavs have the assets. They probably won’t deal brunson and i don’t want porzingas for cj. Maybe something around hardaway jr + bullock + a couple lotto protected firsts & waive the injury test for hardaway? Seems like the pels have better assets

Why one earth would you not want Zinger for CJ. Zinger would be the 2nd best guy on this team by a good amount.

We just saw the team trade Norm and RoCo for nothing. If we turned CJ into Zinger or CJ into Bullock /Powell / Future FRP that would be amazing. Much better grades than what we just saw w/ LAC

Zinger spreads cancer everywhere he goes and there’s a reason dallas would probably deal him for cj

I think EITHER Dame or CJ will be traded in the coming days. In fact, I think it's quite possible a deal for one of the two has already been agreed upon. Otherwise the first trade really seems as dumb to me, as everyone else sees it. I wouldn't risk doing the first big part, without having secured the second. Obviously, I'm still hoping it's for Simmons, Drummond and two FRPs. More if possible, but that would make me quite happy. I know most of you won't feel the same... downright pissed I would imagine. But that should all change after the first few games of next season.

ANT / KJ
CJ / MAC(maybe)
Little / Winslow
Simmons / Nance(maybe)
Nurkic / Drummond(maybe)

cj / Brown / Watford / Our Lotto pick / Philly's FRP

I also feel like there must be a plan and another deal is imminent. Maybe Bledsoe can be flipped to a team wanting a guard for the playoffs? But I'm getting worried now that it's been a day, and no second deal has been announced. I don't think Dame will be traded while he's injured, unless it's an overpay.

I admit the speculation HAS been around CJ recently, with the Pels and a couple other teams... but in my eyes, I just totally agree that a Dame/Simons pairing looks awful for the future of this franchise. Is there any chance Cronin trades BOTH Dame and CJ by the deadline? What the heck would that return us? What if Cronin ends up actually being a really smart guy? He's got 6 days to prove it!

IN CRONIN WE TRUST!!!

Just heard another Bagley rumor... Nance for Bagley and 2 second round picks... Of course I've been all over Bagley as a buy low guy so once again they could be pulling my chain.

Bledsoe is practically an expiring contract, if next seasons 3.9 million is stretched...

Maybe in the off-season, the blazers can move Bledsoe and our 22 lotto pick for Myles Turner?

It's going to take a third team taking Hardaway Jr before CJ ends up in Dallas.

Something else is cooking for sure. Keeping Dame, CJ and Simons, who will command probably 20+ mill a year is not reasonable going forward.
If you want to try to measure the elements of basketball that are supposedly unmeasurable, spend a game just watching Marc Gasol.

This or a CJ-Porzingis swap are the only realistic options.

Not a bagley fan but this seems decent
