last time i saw greg monroe was when i yelled 'and one' at him when he was coming out of game 4 of the first round in the 17-18 playoffs when he played on the celtics. i was sitting in the 3rd row behind the celtics bench. he did not care for that, and shouted back at me.

also, if anyone knows where i can find a copy of that game, id be really appreciative.

Would we view him as an upgrade to Donte? Whether or not Suki is spooked by Nance's injury history would be a big question.

Bucks could save the Blazers a bunch of money helping them get off his deal for next season.

Not sure how interested Portland would be in Donte though -- especially if they are keeping McCollum.

Nance would be a good fit, but he's out with a knee injury with no timetable to return. Roll the dice because we don't need him for awhile? Tough call.

I think you insert yourself into McCollum talks and try to walk away with Nance.

MKE: Nance, Snell
PDX: Hart, Hayes, Connaughton, Hood, MKE '24 1st (via NOP), DAL '22 2nd, IND '25 2nd (via MKE)
NOP: McCollum, Nwora
DAL: Satoransky (into TPE)

-Bucks add a versatile two-way big.
-Blazers shed another $20M+, adding picks and useful rotation pieces.
-Pels land their guy in McCollum, Nwora is a good Zion fit.
-Mavs add much needed depth using their TPE and a 2nd.

Holiday / Hill
Allen / DiVincenzo
Middleton / Matthews / Snell
Giannis / Nance
Portis / Monroe / (Lopez)

I think Nance is available for less, but I thought your idea of Nwora being good for Zion was interesting. Is this because Nwora could set an example for Zion on controlling his weight, since Nwora dropped about 75 pounds since HS?

That's a really smart angle, it would be worth a try for the Pelicans

Taking from the game thread and moving here because I think you're right. Suppose the Bucks call and get in on some Lillard action. Middleton to third team, assets to Portland, Lillard to Bucks. Assuming all parties agree, is that a trade that this board accepts?

All of this contingent on, of course, the Bucks not winning another championship. If they do, bury this idea forever.

The Bucks reunion phenomenon has only applied to Bud-era guys until now, right? Even Ersan had played for Bud when the Bucks brought him back, so it was as much a Bud reunion as a Bucks one. I think this is the first guy they brought back that didn't play for Bud previously.

RoLo, Bledsoe, and Ersan should be the targets for reunion turds and giggles, but I can live with this. Henson wouldn't really count; the only reason he got to play for Bud is because they couldn't get rid of him any sooner than they did.

Brook/RoLo/Monroe
Giannis/Portis/Ersan
Khris/Pat/Snell
Allen/DDV/Wes
Jrue/Hill/Bledsoe

Is it a real injury though or are they just tanking?

im 100% down bringing in Ersan or Henson too idgaf i like fun. I was actually sad when we traded Henson since I thought he was fitting into Bud's system really well.

I don't think our options are all that great, we're picking off the top of the scrap heap. I'm not sure it's realistic to expect a big acquisition at the deadline with our lack of assets.

I'm sure as hell not gonna lose any sleep about any 10 day contract we sign tho

Saw the outline on the trade board. DDV/Semi/Hood for K. Williams/Muscala.

If the Thunder aren't big on DDV just need to route him to a team to get the Thunder another pick.

Also opens up another roster.

Hadn’t realized Nance’s knee had kept him out so many games this year already.

It’s not like Donte’s injury history is so encouraging….but whether or not Bucks ownership would clear $10 million + luxury tax to Nance next season seems like an even bigger variable if he might end up out for a significant period of time.

If Portland is on fire sale do what it takes to get McCollum. Jrue/CJ/Midds are all 30 and until their contracts expire will give Giannis a 3 year window to get another championship. Our billionaires should pay for this.

Hill + DDV + Allen + Pat + Lopez is the "cheapest" way to pull this off. Obviously Blazers will be shipping most of them to get some picks. It's 31,366 mil coming out for CJ's 30,864 mil + whatever min contracts to make it work.

Moving forward CJ will be making next season as much as Hill + Allen + Lopez + Pat and that's assuming Pat opts in (but probably he won't). If you add Donte's new contract in this I guess it's safe to say that Bucks might even pay less next season in a CJ + tax-MLE + 3 vets scenario.

Make it happen Horst!

Brandon Jennings wasn't though can't remember what year off hand he came back.

That's said, I think part of it is these players get passed around a ton. There are limited professional NBA jobs and limited number of NBA caliber players.

Jennings was pre-Bud. That return game was fun as hell.

I think the fact that these guys get passed around so much is part of what makes it so unusual that they end up back with the Bucks. Players love to play for Bud. Put Korver and Teague in there too. It's kind of uncanny how much these guys, who could theoretically end up anywhere, keep ending up back with Bud. All of them probably had other options for the minimum salaries they got from the Bucks, and Milwaukee is not exactly a destination city.

He tried to get ready to play tonight actually, but the knee swelled. Portland wants him back on the floor before the deadline.

Not to single you out, but people who format lineups this way with the centers on top and PGs on the bottom, are most definitely sociopaths.

That's pretty **** incredible, considering we only have a fraction of these other teams' revenue.

Owners not cheap in my book, they must be feeling it in their back pocket.

Bucks fans have to be happy with how much the owners have been willing to spend so far but we'll see how long it lasts. I hope they don't Dan Gilbert us.

Finals merch would be paying for it.

I doubt you'll ever get anywhere near Lakers gear...
But it's all speculation and gut feel anyway, those are private companies, they have no obligation to disclose financial information other than player salaries, and so they don't. Bottom line is, only the owners and their accountants know.
