Ingles was already on the downhill before this injury. Don’t think he ever suits up for Portland. This is just about the Blazers getting more picks for trades. Not a fan on NAW, so w/e

That was actually a good trade.

So it’s basically CJ and Nance for Hart, Didi, and a lottery pick this year (or Milwaukee’s pick in 2025) 3 seconds plus even more cap room. It’s pretty good if we get the Nola pick this year I guess..

I thought NAW had more value than this. I'll talk to my buddy about the local side of this. Honestly I hate it unless Sac wants that package for Bagley...

I was not a NAW fan either but I was ready to be proven wrong before he got flipped for a second round pick. :(

He is expiring and a really good/funny dude. I don't think he a legit 6'8" as I'm at least an inch taller than him in person. His wife is his back bone and pushes him constantly. None of which matter since he will never play a minute in Portland. They swear he will be in the NBA again but I don't know.

Ingles will likely return to Utah on a team friendly deal. It'll be interesting if he'll even report to
Portland given the severity of his injury or will be allowed to do his rehab close to home.

Why? If we want to retool we should get him in the building and try to sign as a vet min guy assuming the plan works.

If we strike out and move Dame clearly he shouldnt be retained, but Ingles in 22/23 on a vet min as a cheap gamble is a good move IMO.

Yes Ingles on a vet min might be worth a look...but if they sign get that deal it will be with Utah.

I'm not letting myself get attached to really anyone outside of Dame, Simons, Little or Nurk at this point... even Nurk is iffy.

Yeah, he's already mentioned post-trade he wants to go back to Utah if they'll have him. He's never gonna wear a Blazer jersey.

Agreed. I don't think anyone outside of Dame should be untouchable.

by the way, if Portland can't flip Ingles and waives him after the deadline, he can't re-sign in Utah for a calendar year

I'd wonder if Portland assured Utah they wouldn't waive Ingles. Probably wouldn't matter as he likely wouldn't even be ready to play a year from now. Not at his advanced age of 35

Yeah, I doubt it matters. From the quotes I heard, I doubt he even leaves Utah state. He's got a long road back so if Portland waives him or not is probably a moot point for all sides.

I don't know. I tore my ACL/MCL/PCL three games into a rugby season and came back for training camp the next season, and I"m wasn't a rich pro with personal trainers in my mansion daily to help with the rehab.
