This is going to be a bigger hole than the Nash/Howard fiasco.... The best thing we could do is trade Davis for some youth and picks but in LA that's not doable as the Buss family has to put a product on the floor that at least has to somehow match expectations with their pricing structure.

I think this 'hole' may cause a selling of the team. At the very least we need a completely new front office with a group that is centered on the Lakers and not on LeBron.

I disagree.

This offseason and next season, the Lakers will have a $47m expiring contract and 2 FRPs.. They will be in good position to make an upgrade I think.

I think this season is done though.

The team will still depend on an aging LeBron who dominates the ball and dictates that we use an isolation offense in critical situations. Add to that Davis who may never play more than 55 games in a season again. You can put a few good guys around them but the core is the problem.

Keep in mind, my evaluation is in terms of a true championship contender not a playoff team. I know fully well we will do anything possible to keep it going as long as he's here. The franchise really has no other short term solution.

Nothing against anyone here.... just my view of this. I just don't see a path to a balanced team that can overcome Bron's age and Davis' penchant for getting injured.

Would Celtic OR any of you do a AD trade to celtics <> not sure if numbers match.

AD+THT+2027 pic for Tatum even throw in another player if need, that's not Monk to get the deal done

I'm sorry but Tatum is my pipe dream and who'd I'd go all in for.

I'm getting desperate.

Can we trade Lebron to OKC for SGA and Lu Dort?

Why for OKC? They benefit greatly in terms of media exposure... and will get more nationally televised games. Then they'll have the Lebron-Bronny duo to look forward to too.

3 team trade incoming. Final discussions today.

Lakers get Cam Reddish and Alec Burks

Knicks get Goran Dragic and picks

Raptors get THT and Nerlens Noel.

Kendrick Nunn might be included as well.
They're talking about the picks. Which one from the Lakers or Raptors to be included for the Knicks.

It kinda makes sense though.

Raptors have always wanted THT. They have no bench nor bigs.

Knicks are not playing Reddish at all and want to shed long term contracts. Dragic is getting bought out.

Lakers are getting what they can at this point..

It makes sense for every team involved in the deal.

Yeah, well beggars can't be choosers.

We're not getting much more from anybody. We might not even get this.

Reddish and Burks, both young wings. This would be a plus for the current season, and might help lay a good foundation for the future, along with Anthony Davis, Stanley Johnson, Austin Reaves, and Malik Monk. The Lakers' assistant coach, Phil Handy, is terrific with young players, from all I have seen.

Heck, he might be running the team himself in a couple of weeks.

Burks is old as dust. Reddish is the young one.

Phil Handy might have a reputation of developing young guys, but it's not happening here.
Every single young guy we had has erupted after they were traded from the Lakers. And THT will be the next one on the list.

Randle
Russell
Ball
Ingram
Kuzma
Hart
Bryant
Clarkson
Zubac
Nance

All have been way more productive after they left our environment. Bigger role, opportunity, better coaching, basic skill improvement, you name it. All might have been a factor, but the reality is there. Lakers can't develop young guys.

Sure, Handy hasn't been around for most of those dudes, I'll give you that. Maybe it will be different if they aren't drafted by us.

Burks and Reddish is as good a package for THT/Nunn (probably giving up a 2nd, too) as you could hope for, tbh. I'm decently high on both of them for what they provide

If we can manufacture a Baze + two 2nds for Kenrich Williams deal as well, that sets us up well for 2022-23 (life after Russ, hopefully)

Hopefully, Lakers are giving up THT+Bazemore+Ellington+SRPs for Reddish+Burks. I think Nunn is needed as a POA defender for the Lakers.. this would also open a spot for a buyout..

There isn't even a single reliable rumor out there. Lakers got **** and this season is going to turn miserable if the roster stands pact after the trade deadline.

In all honesty, I would try to keep the team in tact right now instead of making any trades. This team does not have the mentality to get anywhere near contention even with a trade for some rotation pieces like Reddish and Burks. Instead of blowing our limited assets to win a couple more games, let's just keep all our assets in tact and try to find opportunities in the offseason or next year. Not making a move is better than making a bad one, just look at what we could have had if we didn't dump our assets on Westbrook. We probably could've gotten CJ McCollum if that idiotic move wasn't made. I am also not at all confident with Pelinka's ability to negotiate. The guy has gotten fleeced in every trade he's made and I don't want him running around doing the bidding for LeBron as i don't think either one is smart enough to GM this team

Wish I could 'and 5' this.

Fans need to relax, and the team needs to relax. There's nothing out there that's gonna fix this. And we need to stop sending picks out, and we need to curb the 'desperation moves'.

Is THT having a bad year? Yes...but he was literally gods gift to the green earth 10 months ago. Could it be that he's affected by this roster as well?? Every desperation move is another bucket of water in the sinking ship. This team is nowhere near a title contender, and has too many issues to fix in 20 games. Just accept that, and take a deep breath. If we gotta stick with Russell for another season, so be it. But don't go trading him (AND PICKS) for John Wall. He's got 90% of the same issues, and he'll miss half the games.

If some crazy S goes on in the offseason, where Lillard demands a trade to the Lakers, and Portland decides to give him his wish, for being such a good soldier all this time...or something like that....Yeah...of course. But that's not happening and we know it. So the best thing to do here, is just admit this was a failure. Bad idea. Didn't work. But it's only 1 more year. Stop hedging our future (what little is left) to try and prop up this fatally flawed team further. Just let this play out, and start fresh.

If Lebron and AD wanna piss and moan, so be it. This was there doing, and the whole universe knows it. They wanted Russ....well they got him. So go make the best of it for another 100 games.
