United fail to beat Burnley after having two goals disallowed, and West Ham beat Watford comfortably. Top four is looking difficult for United, with a tough remaining fixture schedule and a clear sense of discord around the club. After watching that last night, Maguire has to be one of if not the worst signing of all time. Leicester robbed them blind. He keeps stepping up like he's Van Dijk and then immediately gets spun around, even by the slowest players, leaving his CB partner and fullbacks scrambling to cover. Man has the mobility and defensive instincts of a fridge. Worst part is, he's 28 and not very likely to get any better.
At the bottom, Newcastle smashed Everton. I think Lampard has a big job on his hands just to keep them up. Dele and Van de Beek look like decent signings on paper, but Dele will not put in the kinds of shifts that they'll need in a relegation dogfight, not anymore. Van de Beek is a nice player but needs to be part of a mobile pressing team to thrive. Not sure if that's how Lampard will want them to play, but there's an odd mix of players in that squad, which just speaks to how confused Everton's recruitment and long-term strategy has been.
