Yup, Grant is probably the best prize left on the board for a contender. We'll see if anyone is willing to part with something good to get him.

He won't.

Just keep expectations at zero and be pleasantly surprised if he is dealt.

Joe Harris +2 1st round picks? Does that tickle your fancy? It does for me.

Cade

Bagley

Sure, why not. Though I still don't see Bagley starting or playing at the 4.

Just trying to hold onto rapidly waning hopes...

Ah I see the setup here. When a trade inevitably fails to materialize I'll be blamed for not BELIEVING.

Maybe Grant accepts a lesser role in Detroit if he gets his extension. Right now he's playing for his fat extension dreams.

Okay, is there any source on the Grant extension thing? I can't find a thing about it.

I think it's between the line reading. If you are not trading Grant today then you're likely looking to extend him. His value would be highest now with two playoff appearances for new team. Not looking to meet Grant's extension demands and holding on to him would be

1:35 p.m. ET: After swinging a deal for Ben Simmons, the Brooklyn Nets might not be done. Sources tell ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski that the Nets are still working to be aggressive in more deal-making today, armed with two new first-round picks.

Two FRPs for Grant?

It's not uncommon for reports of trades to trickle in after the deadline for another 15 or 20 minutes. We likely have a good 30 minutes left before we know for certain that he's not going anywhere.

There will also be teams that can trade a 1st on draft night that can't right now I would imagine due to the Stepien rule.

Yep. You can certainly find something like "Grant is due a contract extension" which translates to "Grant becomes a free agent."

Which of course around here translates to "Weaver loves Grant, will absolutely not trade him, and will sign him to a 5 year, $150 million extension in the next four minutes."
