I want Westbrook to start on the bench or be used as a wing defender. He's strong enough to defend wings full time but lacks the agility to defend point guards full time now.
THT with his length, youth and instincts will probably always be a better wing defender than Westbrook, no matter how 'locked-in' RW gets... I see people say THT sucks at defense, but I don't know what they're watching and whatever it is, Westbrook is far worse..
We can't have both LeBron and Westbrook watching plays on D, which is what we've had all season with the starting lineup, but if RW committed, I'd be fine with him staying in the SL...
Otherwise, even if we got Schroder, I think we go with whoever is shooting better/THT/LeBron/Johnson/AD... In a perfect world, with his ability to hit 3s in volume, I'd start Ellington... I like Monk, but he can be a black hole, he's not a solid passer, and his defense isn't very good... When he's draining 3s, he's a monster, when he's not, he's kind of a negative... I like him though...
Ellington does not hesitate, has a lightning fast release, and seems to not miss if he's 'on'... I trust him taking 3s over just about anyone on the team... Defensively, he's about like Monk though...
Maybe Nunn can rotate in when he gets back, or maybe we can get Gary Harris who killed us a couple times with his shooting...
I thing a reg season bench of Westbrook, Howard, Melo, Monk or Ellington or Nunn depending on who's shooting best, and Ariza doesn't suck...
