Celtics have won 8 in a row. They were probably rated highly on RAPTOR because it's player based and when healthy, their starting lineup is pretty good (Smart, Brown, Tatum, Horford, Robert Williams III).

Jalen with a double double in 23 mins off the bench in Indiana. Looks like the same guy who he promised to be in summer league.

Two things the NBA should do schedule wise.

No games on trade deadline day. It's silly they haven't done this yet.

Stack a full slate of early afternoon games on Super Bowl Sunday. You have sports fans sitting around waiting for the super bowl to start so give them a bunch of great NBA games. Then moving forward schedule good NBA games on Sundays to fill the void left by the NFL.

eh, not having games on trade deadline day doesn't necessarily mean the moved players would be able to play the following day. you would need to not schedule games through the end of the week for that to really work.

It's not so they can play right away I just think it's a distracting day for players and fans so make it a holiday of sorts.

Kings lose by 24 to Brooklyn without their 4 best players.

To be fair Kings don’t even have any players that qualify as “best players”.

God it would suck to be a Kings fan. I'm not exactley sure whats going on ther in the last 15 years, they have gone through so many players, gms, coaches etc... and they just can't get it right... even now when they have like 8 NBA quality players they just can't get it together... strange

Yeah you gotta give it to them man. I couldn’t do it. I wouldn’t start rooting for another team but would find some other interest instead of basketball by now if I was a Kings fan.

Imagine supporting 15 years of misery. Sports is supposed to be a venue to help us get our mind of stress and keep us entertained with something fun. Kings haven’t had anything close to that in a very long time. Many of their fans probably get more stressed thinking about their team than their actual personal lives and it should be the other way around.

Their new GM is from the Nuggets and is supposed to be really good. The Sabonis trade maybe pays off in the longterm. Davion Mitchell has flashed some real promise.

It just sucks to be fans of the Kings and Magic. I’d have included Pistons in this too but they at least something brewing there with Bey and Cunningham.

A lot of NBA players like going to the Super Bowl. Having a game on that day would most likely mean they can't go to that game.

Kings should have traded everyone and keep Haliburton.
Sabonis is young and not in his prime yet, so they will need to build around him. I would still trade Fox and Barnes and try adding the right pieces around Sabonis

Easier said than done. Barnes is an expiring next year, and Fox is waaaay too overpaid as of now. I think he is a good PG for the future tho, just not having a good season. They need to get good shooters next to Fox and Sabonis and they could (should) be OK... a strech5 and two 3D wings.

Pretty sure he probably meant Brooklyn was missing their 4 best players and Kings still lost by 24.

As for Kings, Sabonis is pretty good as are Holmes, Barnes and Fox.

Justin Holiday shooting pretty well this year and a pretty good defender.

Don't know why anyone would be surprised at Jalen's production, given what he did for us this season. I'm nothing but happy for him. I got no regrets, really. We got Craig for two years and Holiday's QO. Holiday was the 17th pick a few seasons ago and there's an awful lot to like about him.

James Jones might not nail the draft ever year, but the man has a talent for squeezing value from nothing. He somehow managed to turn a penny and a nickel into two dimes this deadline. I hope Jalen gets paid this summer (not by Indy, lol) and becomes a star. F'ing love it.

Yeah, I'm not surprised with Jalen either. I'm not entirely sure I'd call him a nickel if Holiday and Craig are dimes though. Craig is a decent player hustle guy and Holiday an ok young guy but Jalen is a nice cheap asset on a 2nd year. Of course he was not worth anything not having picked up his option since he could leave, so in that respect, he was more like a nickel (if that) for us.

Had we picked up Jalen's option, I'd rather have him than Craig for sure.

Yeah it was a joke. Meant Nets missing their 4 best doesn’t matter because Kings don’t even have…

Sabonis is good. Holmes has not been good for them in the last several weeks and I follow her mom on Twitter and she’s getting some hate from their fans which is unfortunate. Barnes and Fox are average at best.

I hope for their sake that Sabonis/Mitchell/whoever they draft this summer form a good nucleus for them.

Jalen's a nickel in my analogy because there's only 26 games left and whomever holds his contract won't be able to re-sign him, in all likelihood. Whereas Craig is a valuable 2-year deal and Holiday's QO could hold value going forward if he performs as we hope.

I was just talking about the deadline moves, not the decision not to extend Jalen.

This is how it should be viewed. Not extending Smith is a separate deal and worthy of debate but once that move was made Jalen was done here.
