Nope, the team didn't get the message. Such conflicted feelings

It will definitely be interesting. He was given like 6-8 weeks like 4 weeks ago so an appearance in March is maybe not out of the question. And if we somehow make the play-in I don't know how he could stay away.

Also, love the hug Adams and Nurkic had after beating up on each other all game. Would love Adams as a bit guy sometime later in his career. Just think the guy is a gem.
Adams is definitely one of the most likeable guys in the league, probably the most likeable for me.

I think Dame only would do it if he could come back a few weeks before the play-in. I doubt he'd want to come in and have the play-in be his first game back.

I suppose if Memphis wanted him gone, they'd trade him into Portland's TPE but one thinks Portland would rather have
a PF/C as opposed to a pure center

Dame would have to come back prior to the end of the season for the team to re-adjust to him.

Even with Dame, I'm doubtful Portland could beat The Wolves or the Clippers if they get PG back
in the play-in game. Let's just enjoy this stretch of games when it was fun to watch the Blazers
play.

i have to think dame is super excited to play next to anf.

I wish we deal trent that’s still a major blow. That being said i used to think trent was the better talent between him and anf. Now that simons is coming into his own i think he’s got an all star future ahead of him, one of the fastest players in the league, a great shot, and actually playing fairly consistently. Physically he was always more gifted than trent and at this point he seems like the guy with more developmental potential to become even better going forward. The big question is whether he fits next to dame and only time will tell that one

is it really worth it losing our lotto pick (potential for top 4 if lucky) to win play in games when you have 0 shot at competing in playoffs

I wish our previous GM didn't treat Trent like a POS so that he wanted out.

But yeah, Simons and Trent would have been suuuuch a fun duo.

If you're close enough to the play-in spot that early, you're chances at a Top 4 pick are going to be slim to none cause you're probably in the 10-14 pick range anyway. So yeah, at that point, it's fine, who cares.

Let's see how this team does after the ASB tho. A few things could bring them back to earth / bottom of the league... For one, a LOT of teams are slowing down right now and tired from an exhausting first half of the season. For two, the ASB is a long break and could cool the team off a lot from their current hot streak.

The Lakers likely just lost AD for awhile though, so they're going to be dropping too soon. Don't be shocked if LeBron starts racking up DNPs.

Depends what our end goal is. I don’t think picking number 14 vs number 8 is gonna be a game changer as most of the talent is in the top 5 anyhow. Yeah there’s an outside shot we win the lotto but at best it’s around a 20-25 percent shot we get in the top 4 and only around 4-7 percent odds we win the lotto anyhow. I think dame would be much happier to see his new sidekick anf being a great leader and carrying his team to an inspired late season run for the playoffs even if it comes up short. That’d give dame a lot to look forward to when he returns especially if we can make some decent roster moves this summer

I think probably the most damning thing you can say about Olshey's last few seasons is what's happening right now. His veteran roster was so bad, that the guy who tried to blow it up and create a tank team ended up improving the roster 10 fold. I can't remember a team ever blowing it up to tank for a pick but actually improving after blowing it up.

lots of season left still lol.

Regardless of what happens the roster was bad, mostly the logjam in the back court. I mean i think everyone and their mother knew norm couldn’t start at sf for us yet they kept trying to beat that dead horse for awhile

Of course, the team may come back to earth. I've already made that argument of why it may happen post-ASB. I still don't think it's up for much debate this team is worlds better AFTER being blown up than what it was to start the season. Maybe not in pure player for player talent better, but as a collective, it's night and day different just by stint of the roster being younger, more athletic, and better balanced.

Can't wait to add Dame to this team. My only hope is that he can adjust to this style and we don't go back to hero ball the whole game. Last 2 minutes is cool though.. :D

I don't think Dame will mind having another guy who can do what he does and take some of the pressure off.

I'm definitely less worried now that Dame and Ant are gonna be Dame/CJ v2. Getting curious to see how it goes.
