I don't mind Buck. I can't stand Aikman. Not because he is "anti Packer", he's just phoning it in the last few years. I like Al Michaels but if he moves to Amazon for Thursday night (likely) Tirico moves into the role full time and he's terrific. Fox has a thin bench. Burkhardt and Olsen are their #2. Burkhardt is bland. Olsen was terrible early on and he did get better. But I don't want him as the #1, not yet at least. Just keep Gus Johnson and Aqib Talib off my screen. As for CBS I think Nantz is overrated. Bland. Romo I still like but sometimes his schtick wears thin. Other CBS play by play guys are solid, Ian Eagle, Kevin Harlan I like.

It's kinda petty on my part, but Buck annoys the hell out of me when he can't resist commenting on how cold it is (wherever he may be) if it gets below 40*. Just stick to covering baseball in the desert Buck!

One of the things with Aikman, is his inability to let an error rest, whether its a player or officials mistake. Something goes south in the first quarter, and he's still bitching about it into the fourth quarter.

Fox' on-site bench is thin. I usually mute ALL of their booth coverage. I'll unmute for the sideline reporters, just to pick up on injury situations or the like. For the studio crew, Menefee and Long can stay, but the rest can ride off into the sunset. For me, Bradshaw and Johnson are well past their "sell by" date. What was once funny or insightful is now just stale. I usually just mute those studio segments altogether.

I'm probably marooned on an island of one, but I don't mind Collinsworth. I know he drives many folks to fury, but not me.

I don't mind Collinsworth either. He and Tirico will be a good team.

I'm really wondering what the deal will be with Amazon on Thursday nights. I have Prime so that's no problem. But often on Thursday night games I record them and start watching an hour or so into the game. Probably can't do that with Amazon. I'm not even sure you'll be able to pause if you're watching live, I sure hope so. Or rewind the live broadcast. Otherwise it's back to the stone ages.

You have to wonder who's whispering in his ear to do this. They have some good talent out there as you note. Is this trying to get Kingsbury sacked - without looking quite like a coach killer?

I've been a huge Kyler fan based on fantasy football. I was shocked to see his body language this season, just looked like a complete whiner and loser.

There is absolutely something going on.

I'm in a minority but who calls the game on TV impacts my decision to watch by maybe .1%. It's not like I'm going to watch a Bears game because X is in the booth or not watch the Packer game because Y is in the booth. I guess it matters a lot more to other based on the game threads and the amount they are getting paid. Just shocked they think Aikman brings in $20m worth of revenue over some random former player or coach.

I'll watch a game of interest, but I'll mute most of the play commentary, for announcers I find annoying. I'll unmute for replays that need further explaination.

I often watch the Packers on TV via antenna (old cheapskate) and listen to Laravee and McCarren on radio, with little or zero time discrepancy.

I guess this is like a version of whether chewing sounds annoy a person. Some don't notice, others despise it (who incidentally tend to marry each other, but I digress).

For me, I have a neutral to positive impression of most gameday announcers, including Buck and Aikman. I like Al and Chris, and Nantz and Romo. Liked Olsen, liked Jennings. Even liked Jerry Glanville. Everyone kind of blends into the background to the point of near-irrelevance (for me), so I can neither relate to the idea of hating someone, nor shelling out big bucks to lure someone to switch networks.

Excepting Reggie Miller. Super annoying.

Buck and Aikman are my favorite NFL booth and one of the small handful of teams I actually like hearing call a game.
