For what? Hes fully healthy and should be playing. He won't even practice

This is why we traded for him.

Kyrie would rather face gunfire than take this shot. Simmons doesn't want to play until a few weeks before the playoffs. Joe Harris looks done for the season.

So whats left?

KD with a bunch of role players? That won't get us past the first round man.

This team is a failure on every level.

We should have never traded Harden for this head case.

We could have had Harden and KD fully healthy by this week. I don't care if he leaves. At least we had a shot to win a chip.

How do we have that now? Kyrie and Simmons can never be trusted.

1) Nets are cursed
2) I dont think ben is fully healthy. i think he probably has some real anxiety issues.
3) marks should have known this and flipped ben for john collins or fox or something
4) Tsai/Marks/Adams need to figure it the F out.

Ben is too scared to play. There were a thousand red flags prior to this trade.

This is why the Sixers couldn't get anything for him. Then we just came to save them with James Harden.

I would WAY rather have kept Harden. He would have tried in the playoffs once he saw KD playing at an MVP level.

And then we wouldn't even need Kyrie. KD + Harden was enough to get past any team in this East. Philly would be a non-factor.

So we just have to get past Milwaukee and Miami.

Even if Harden leaves a Championship makes it worth it.

This is verbatim what i said at the deadline. dont trade in season, even if you get loss/nothing at years end

Everyone needs to relax about the Ben stuff. It's possible he tweaked something while getting back to NBA speed. Or they made a mutual decision to keep him out until after the Philly game. Either way, I don't mind. Hopefully by the time he comes back, Kyrie is full time and KD is ready to go. I personally don't want him playing with some of these garbage lineups we're throwing out there.

The Harden stuff is a non-issue at this point. He wasn't going to play hard here. Keeping him wasn't an option. When you have a guy willing to embarrass himself on the court to get traded, your hands are tied.

Is there a reason some you don't believe the back issue? I was noticing how he was sitting on the bench and it looked like the posture of someone who has back issues but thought nothing of it. Then the back stuff came out when Ian mentioned it.

We should not act like Philly fans. Ben has a fresh slate with Nets fans until proven otherwise.

I'm not knocking Ben at all. mental stuff, back stuff, its all fine with me. he is the future not the present. dont mess that up.

At this rate KD will probably ask for a trade quietly in the offseason. wouldn't shock me at this point. what a disaster.

Tweeked what?

Then why doesn't he say so.

If he wants to miss the Philly game thats fine. Does he look like hes coming back next week???

He won't even start practicing yet. And he has no injury.

Dude is no better than Kyrie. We gave up Harden for a guy that doesn't want to play!

Are we really expecting this guy to be ready for a Championship run after not playing for a year??? And having 2 weeks of regular season play?

KD is ready to go already. Kyrie is NOT going to be full time.

KD just wants control of a franchise. He won't leave as long as hes calling the shots.

More likely we do a full reset this off season.

Maybe we can clear cap space and bring in someone like a Bradley Beal.

I believe Simmons hurt his back.

I also believe he spent the last several months on his ass playing video games and not keeping his conditioning where it needs to be.

Simmons has had back issues in the past. It's not surprising that they would take their time with him.

Amin Elhassan was speaking about Phoenix's past success in changing guys' biomechanics. If the performance team sees something Simmons is doing wrong biomechanically, they may be retraining him to fix it.

Beal is 10x better than Simmons.

And will play full time unlike Kyrie.

Have you had back issues before? If back soreness flares up, the best course is to take a few days off from rigorous workout.

After listening to what Roman Shelburne said this is the most likely timeline:

He started ramping up last week. Then towards the ends of the week, he had back soreness. Our performance team shut him down a bit so that it doesn't get worse. He'll start back up again towards the end of this week. He'll need multiple full practices before being ready/cleared to play, which will probably start next week if all is right. We know how cautious the Nets are with returning to play. Nothing surprising here. Plus it makes ZERO sense rushing him to play.

Sadly he most likely won't be ready until Orlando/Mavs at the earliest with the Jazz game as the lastest.

I think the worst version of ben is better then Beal. For any flaws he has offensively he is still a net positive on offense and a 2-way player with elite defensive impact. even if he was a 0 on offense, he may still have more value then beal as the leagues best wing defender.

We have seen Ben lead philly to long win streaks with embiid out. Beal has really just but lottery/late playoff fodder. He is the very definition of empty stats.

Ben is a much much better player now with a much bigger ceiling and more portable/conducive to winning.

Just look at what ben did to lillard, luka, ja, and hell... beal. he can guard 1-4 better then anyone. on par with a healthy prime kawhi on that end and potential to be even better.

In a video call Friday, Brown gave a much more vivid description of Simmons’ injury and how serious it was.

For those of you who remember in Milwaukee … for me that was as disturbing a memory as it relates to a player that I can think of. He’s lying on his back, he’s vomiting primarily because of pain. Trying to get him back on the plane and build him back up to some level of health where he can play basketball again with us. That timeline was always an interesting one. As the head coach, you ask the question: ‘What do you think?’ His health obviously rules the day. The effort that he has put in, getting [from] where he was, and the significance — he hurt his back in a real way — the effort that he has put in under the restrictions that are all on top of us.
“He is to be praised and applauded in a real way, a significant way. The professionalism and discipline that he has shown, having that pass to get into the facility … he’s teed off on that. He’s been outstanding. It could be a little bit of the silver lining of this pandemic, just the fact that you actually have the chance to get somebody like Ben, as important as Ben is, back into our team.

Its crazy how Beal, who was arguably the most loud and ignorant of the antivax players, sucked it up and took a harmless shot while Kyrie just said f*ck it.

I really have no respect for Irving at this point in terms as a player goes. He doesn't care about winning.
