Remember when some of us thought Fox was just as good or better than Ja? Man how things change because at the time Fox was up there with Ja.

To be fair last year he was. Ja has become a full blown superstar. He's on top 5 NBA player trajectory, never expected either of them to get there but good for Morant. Fox had a bad first 40 games, and didn't really adjust to playing off Hali. His last games since Hali has been traded have been very promising IMO.

The difference a motor can make (insatiable desire to play the game/improve/not lose etc).

I never expected Fox to be a superstar, just needed a continuation of last year, with solid counting stats and moderately positive impact metrics. he's been doing it lately and hopefully it continues. But after the first part of the year, your always going to be looking over your shoulder with him

After starting poorly Fox has been on an absolute tear. I'm hopeful Monte can continue bringing in impact players to surround him, Barnes and Sabonis.

Foxs last performance was absolutely insane. 44-6 with only 1 turnover. 3/4 from 3, 5/6 from the line. And really that is the most impressive thing. You see when stars score 40+ they usually do it by getting to the line 15+ times. Fox deserved to shoot that many free throws but wasn't getting the calls.

Sabonis suspended for "making contact with the ref"

But dejounte throws a ball at the ref and gets a 20k fine.

Why does the league hate sabonis so much? It's laughable.

Hi! With your championship hopes now officially dashed, the GB's post-mortem series is looking at the Kings. As the people who watch the Kings night in and night out, your insights would be greatly appreciated. Your data in the surveys would also make the ending graphs more accurate. I hope you guys get out from under Vivek soon!

Tom Gores' Securus faced a class action lawsuit in 2024. The company engaged in a "quid pro quo kickback scheme" with county jails in Michigan which banned in-person visits in order to maximize revenue from voice and video calls.

Ham is saying DDV's camp isnt happy going into the offseason about him not starting

Not only was a worthless head coach in Gentry continuing to start a worthless player in Justin Holiday, but now there is going to be an iffy situation going into the offseason about DDV's contract if he feels the Kings were trying to shelve him to lower his market value.

And what would you be comfortable giving DDV at this stage? He still has some rehabbing to do. Something like ~12 mil over 3 or 4 years?

Entire situation is a mess. He should have started since day 1

It wasnt until watching this Luka vrs Suns Game 7 where I have to admit there is no fighting the trolls on the GB board about how much the Kings goofed on not drafting him.

Up until today I still had it contorted in my mind that perhaps drafting Doncic meant that we were picking lower in the subsequent years and not picking Hali/Mitchell and whoever else in the subsequent years that could have made up for it (there is a chance this line of thinking might still be true)...

I still don't think Luka has the athleticism or the work ethic/body to maintain dominance for a long stretch but...

Oh well, no use wondering what ifs, when we weren't even supposed to be drafting that high that year and only were in that position due to ping pong balls. I actually shared some of Vlade's vision on Luka's predraft questions and Bagley, so I can't hate on him fully either

Report that Monte is last year of contract and no extension talks is so baffling to me. IMO you let him hire Mike Brown, you better give him an extension for better or worse. At least 2 years. Go into the next 3 years letting Monte/Brown do something, and if they can't you fire them both and restart the process at the same time.

I supported keeping Monte and letting him hire his own coach, but I didn't think this team would be dumb enough to repeat the same process we have been over and over. It amazes me how i'm still shocked by Viveks incompetence.

The Kings let Monte sign Brown to a 4 year deal. They are going to let him decide what to do with a franchise altering pick. If they don't extend him in the next few weeks I'm going to be sick to my stomach.

DDV is OK but I'm not losing sleep if he walks. Kings got a look and nothing popped (pun intended) but I didn't see some special player the Kings can't afford to lose.

Is it weird I was more impressed by Davis than DDV last year? I just have a feeling Monte will want to see it through with DDV.

I think Monte sees DDV as a good glue guy that you absolutely need if the contract is right. Hence why the Kings dogged him to lower his market value.

He was that player in Milwaukee, then got injured, and is young

Half a chance he rehabs back to it, and Monte is about the player he was prior to injury

He's a factor IMO, don't know how big

Yep.

Decent sixth man money (10-12 mil a year) at best.

I'm not even sure how I feel about that. I guess if we don't draft a guard we need to, but I liked what I saw from Davis a whole lot more than DDV last year.

Return to Sacramento Kings
