As great as we are tanking, Indiana and Sacramento just flat out refuse to cooperate. You are trying to win, Sacramento! PLEASE WIN!

Re: tank thread
The worst part is if we had lost those other four games before the break as we should've, we would have a real legitimate shot of OKC + Detroit, and maybe even OKC, passing us.

That 4 game win streak will haunt the franchise for years. Such a stupid move.

Yeah, that win streak kinda is a bummer, but haunting them for years... ain't going that far.

Sorry, I meant DECADES, if not centuries. Our great great great great grandchildren will rue the week Chauncey went for it.
If that 4 game win streak keeps us from grabbing Jabari and he’s the next Durant or something, I will absolutely think back to that stretch of games with a sort of stoic indignation.

There's going to be no definitive way to ever really say that is the case though. Maybe the Blazers win those 4 games to get a Top 4 seed in the lottery, but then the pingpong balls fall weird and the Blazers fall back a few spots instead of moving up. It's call the lottery for a reason - at the end of the day you can only do so much to get up to the top of a draft, the rest is down to dumb luck and probabilities.

You can rely on dumb luck if you want, but personally I’ve begun exploring the dark arts and from what I’ve read ritualistic sacrifices and blood magik apparently are pretty effective. *firing finger guns

If you take a look at the last 10 years of Sacramento's lottery picks, tanking for them doesn't seem to matter.
2012 T-Rob-5
2013 McLemore-7
2014 Stauskas -8
2015 WCS-6
2016 Chriss-8
2017 Fox-5
2018 Bagley-2
2020 Haliburton-12
2021 Mitchell-9
Makes one wonder why the Kings owner has tolerated their draft picks futility

Yeah, I fully expect the Kings to try and redraft Stauskas on draft night regardless of where they are drafting.
Haliburton was a good pick though, great value and potentially at 12! But then they traded him so... ya... Kings gonna Kings.

The kings have the worst scouts in the league and probably the worst player development coaches too, I feel so bad for them. They couldve drafted Dame, Giannis, Luka, etc.. They just suck at this.

Even if we had the worst record in the NBA we sure as **** aren't guaranteed a top 4 pick. The worst record in the NBA has a 52.1% chance at a top 4 pick slightly better than a coin flip. Granted that is much better than our current odds of 26.3% of a top 4 pick, but you can't say 52.1% is a sure thing at all.
Keep in mind that 52.1% is any pick in the top 4 so if you are looking at getting the #1 or #2 pick the odds are lower, even with the worst record.

Roughly 12 teams could have drafted Giannis before the Bucks pick, even more could have drafted Jokic. They obviously weren't anywhere hyped up as they entered the draft. Kawhi also went extremely late and could have been nabbed by many teams before The Spurs.

Re: tank thread
Those Kings fans who have suffered ever since Chris Webber left deserve a break but unfortunately
for them, they will end up picking at 6 in a 5 person draft.
As far as Portland is concerned, unless they get lucky and get a top 4 pick, there seems to be a pool
of guys who can go in any order in the mid to late lottery. Keegan Murray should be there at 6-8
where we should be picking and in time should be as good as Jerami Grant and they should be
able to get a good player at 13-14. Hopefully we will not see a repeat of the putrid play we've
been seeing, next season.

Re: tank thread
I think Sekou Doumbouya could be signed to a ten day contract. I wouldn't mind kicking the tires here. He's got some Elite physical traits and I think it's worth giving him a shot to see if Chauncey can coach him up. Cut McLemore and Elleby , decline to bring back Eubanks and see if you can sign a interesting big like Thon Maker, or Giles. If Sekou shows anything you could offer him a Watford style deal. Maker can QB on defense, rim run and move between the corner 3 and dunkers spot. Giles played great when he wasn't worried about getting the hook, Chauncey might be able to coach him up.
From Portland to Reno to Vegas to LA to SLC and on to HotLanta. Winning at life. Too Blessed to be Stressed

Pelicans are playing without both Ingram and CJ.
