I don't think he's a bust, but I also don't think he will live up to the expectation of the #5 pick in one of the most loaded draft of the decade. I suspect he's going to carve out a Marcus Smart like career, a solid role player who can contribute towards winning basketball but lacks the offensive skills to be a legitimate star PG.

Precious was already 6'9" before season, Barnes is likely between 6'9-610" and still growing which is the key

Precious is 6 feet 7.5 inches without shoes, and 6 foot 9 in shoes; and he was a bit taller than Barnes when they posed together at the All-Star weekend for a picture I saw on IG. A Raptors Beat reporter (forgot exactly who) followed up with Nick Nurse with his comments about Barnes being 6 foot 10, and the reporter wrote on twitter that Nurse was joking with his comments and not serious. Barnes is not 6 foot 10.

Cannot believe this is being repeated over and over again. Raptor fans are so desperate for Scottie to being 6 foot 10, so they can compare him to Giannis. Giannis is 6 foot 11 without shoes, and 7 foot in shoes. Barnes measured 6 foot 7 in socks, and 6 foot 8 in shoes at the Combine a month or so from being 20 years old. Let's stick with those measurements unless I see otherwise. In every picture I seen of Barnes either with Precious (6 foot 7.5), (6 foot 6 Cade Cunningham), (6 foot 6.25 inch OG Anunoby), (6 foot 4 Jalen Green), and some others- the height of Barnes is nowhere near 6 foot 10.

Nurse has said countless times that Barnes is 6'10 now and Scottie himself said he's 6'9. So the odds are he's between 6'9 and 6'10 and there's no reason why he shouldn't grow a little bit more. I was 6'2 when I was 20 by the time I was 23 I was 6'4. Giannis entered the league at 6'8 by the end of his rookie season he was like 6'10.

Barnes can say he is 6 foot 9 in shoes, but Precious was measured 6 foot 9 in shoes, and he was a tad taller than Scottie when they stood next to each other last month in pics I saw on IG from All-Star Weekend. Maybe Barnes is 6 foot 9 in shoes, depending on the type of shoe. If Barnes is 6 foot 10 in shoes, than Pascal is close to 7 feet, and Precious is 6 foot 11 in shoes. Posters here believe what they want to believe. Look at pics of Scottie Barnes even next to Cade Cunningham (measured 6 foot 6 without shoes by the Pistons staff), and Barnes was only about an inch taller when they posed together. Look at pics of Barnes next to 6 foot 6.25 inch OG Anunoby. People can believe what fiction they want.

I will be thrilled if Barnes was 6 foot 10, but that would be being excited based on a lie. That means Precious is 6 foot 11 in shoes (LOL). Precious is 6 foot 7.5 inches tall without shoes, and 6 foot 9 in shoes. We all have eyes, and look at Barnes standing next to Precious during all-star weekend.

I still think Barnes is 6 foot 8 in shoes. Every evidence I have seen of him over All-Star weekend, and in pics with 6 foot 6 inch Cade, 6 foot 4 inch Jalen Green, and 6 foot 6.25 inch OG Anunoby, etc., does not translate into Barnes being 6 foot 10. Despite the hopes of Raptor fans, who hope he is 6 foot 10, so they can compare him to Giannis. That being said, I will give Barnes the last word on his height-

That was a big game from Scottie. He was the only Raptor that came to play in the first ~6 minutes and he was the reason we weren't down double digits early on. He got hot to start then suddenly couldn't convert anything regardless of where he was on the floor/who was guarding him, but he just kept playing through and came up with a bunch of clutch steals late in the 4th. Even though GTJ dropped 42 and Siakam put up 25/7/10, it was very much a team win that Scottie played a huge role in to help pull it off at the end.

Barnes just makes winning plays. Found himself in the right place numerous times down the stretch of that game.

Fortunately he has already shown a willingness to shoot and also has great touch around the rim and has a developing back to the basket game... if he started getting a better whistle and also just had a go to move, maybe a mid range pull up, or just got more consistent with his post moves, he'll be fine. But we can't keep expecting him to turn into some freak athlete.
