I'm pretty confused about the Grizzlies lol.

They have Ja and a bunch of nice pieces. But they are very young and have only the one star and keep winning games at an incredible rate even without their one star. It does not seem like they should be ready for prime time but they look like they are. And I don't get how they're doing it.

Just occurred to me that Taylor Jenkins (who?) should probably be coach of the year.

Do you guys think the Grizz can make a run and/or actually get out of the West? Their youth and inexperience should hold them back but when you watch them they're amazing and it's like they don't even know or care that they are young and shouldn't be this good.

I'll root for them all the way. Could be like KD, Russ and Harden OKC.

Agreed but they do have a great big man rotation with Adams and JJJ and Clark and they are dominant rebounders. Bane and Brooks must be like Smart in that they are more impactful than their stats suggest. SloMo and Melton are pretty good bench players too and Tyus is sneaky good backup PG with best A/TO ration year after year. Throw in an athletic freak future MVP like Ja and it works. I have to believe they are the modern version of Big Al’s Hawks and won’t have enough star power to advance too far in playoffs…..yet.
"I think the criticism's stupid," Stevens said. "So I don't care. I'm with Jaylen (Brown) on that. Those two had achieved more than most 25 and 26 year olds ever had. I'd rather be in the mix and have my guts ripped out than suck."

If you think of Horford as a coach instead of a player and considering Theis is only a 4-year vet, Cs are still young...

22 - Morant, JJJ
23 - Bane
24 - Melton
25 - Clarke
26 - Brooks, Jones
28 - Anderson, Adams

23 - G.Williams
24 - Pritchard, Tatum, R.Williams
25 - Brown
27 - White
28 - Smart
30 - Theis
36 - Horford

For sure, but the C's have much more experience. Outside of Adams I'm not sure if anyone on the Grizz has won a playoff series.

Heat were outscored 38-15 in the 4th lol. That’s a December Celtics level choke.

Honestly could be worse than December Celtics that’s a horrific stretch.

I think a number of teams out west can make it to the finals: Suns Dubs Mavs Grizz. Whoever gets hots, stays healthy and competes at their highest level. And a bit of luck!
That's the Way of the World

Return to Boston Celtics
