Ideally yes, don't want that wear and tear in a first or second round. Giannis just going to Derrick Henry us for seven games and Khirs been low key Joe Jesus for them. Now if we get Ben come playoffs, than all bets are off for me. I wouldn't care who and when going to be our victim.

We still have a sneaky chance to get #6 but it's a long shot. We NEED to beat Charlotte. I think we end up taking the 7th seed from the Cavs.

Its looking like a crapshoot for #2.

4 teams are basically tied.

I would prefer the Heat as I have stated many times. They don't have enough offensive talent.

They are a classic good regular season team.

Then Boston. They are a good team but I don't think Tatum/Brown are quite at the level of KD/Kyrie yet. Tatum will get there soon in my view. I don't see them beating us.

Philly would be a problem solely because of Embiid. Harden is a choke artist. But Embiid is a beast. I don't want to deal with him.

Still I can see us pulling it out.

Milwaukee is the worst option. I think they have a ton of chemistry and talent. I don't want to face them until we have to.

I don't really care about the West. GS/Phx are not beating us. I think Mil/Phi are the biggest threats.

Bucks next 2 games vs Philthy and BK. If they'll lose both, it's pretty much given they going to end up as 4th seed. Them resting Jrue, Khris and Giannis here and there tells me they don't mind it either. My take is that they don't care about seeding or who they face in a first two rounds as long as it not Nets.

Getting Bulls in a 1st round, than Saltics in a 2nd is not bad. I believe they will welcome those match ups before they'll get in our bracket.

We need to go at worst 6-1 to get the 8 seed now that hornets own the tiebreaker. looking at their schedule they will go 5-2 or 6-1.

we have 1 guaranteed loss with our next back to back. then we also play the bucks.

I feel like the Nets beating the Sixers in a playoff series will be as enjoyable as a championship almost, so hope we get that match-up as early as possible. Its been a long time since the NBA has had this type of emotion in a rivalry.

As expected, we won't know seedings until last second.

Nash should send a thank you card to Udoka for this.

Hornets game was really a must win.

And we somehow blew out.

Basically guaranteeing ourself an additional play in game. And serious chance of missing the playoffs.

Its inexplicable that we lost that game.

Celtics no longer look like a serious threat.

Miami falling apart.

Sixers not looking great either. Harden is basically playing the same way he did with us.

Milwaukee remains the best team in the East.

But at this point who knows if we even make the playoffs. Could easily see us blowing the play in game.

With the Boston situation playing out the way it is, this could be THE biggest break for Brooklyn along with Cavs being 7th. Nets need to capitalize as the Bucks did and take advantage.

Boston doesnt factor in, with our without williams they were a 4 or 5 game win for us. We need to focus on making the 8 seed. cause nash isnt winning a 1 and done game

Lets say we win tonight (not a given, detroit playing well vs. classic trap game with bucks up next), and Hawks beat OKC (SGA out, actively tanking):

Nets 1 game up on charlotte (CHA owns tiebreaker)
Nets 1 game up on atlanta (Nets own tiebreaker)

Its a 3-way race now. We need to out-win charlotte the last 7 games. Atlanta we can tie. here are schedules, assuming Nets beat detroit/hawks beat OKC

Nets:
Bucks
@Hawks
Rockets
@Knicks
Cavs
Pacers

Hawks:
Cavs
Nets
@Raps
Wiz
@Heat
Rockets

Hornets:
Knicks
76ers
@Heat
Magic
@Bulls
Wiz

I have Nets at 4-2 (lose to one of Cle/Mil and a loss on the B2B)
I have Hawks at 3-3 (Lose to 3 of nets/mia/raps/cavs)
I have CHAR at 4-2 (loss to 2 of sixers/bulls/heat)

Atlanta is a huge game for us. a win there buries them. It gets tricky the last few games though. does philly/Miami want the 1 seed? Do they rest down the stretch?

Also, Miami/philly/bucks are likely motivated to have the nets fall to 9 or 10. I can see them resting/throwing games to the hawks/hornets to accomplish that. On the flip side, teams like the Knicks will be salivating to knock us out of the 8 seed, it will be their version of the playoffs.

Good part is, we control our destiny from here. if we can go 6-1 or 7-0 to close out, we are the 8 seed. There is also a scenario were the cavs completely collapse. that would mean we could get passed by the hawks or charlotte and still be the 8 seed. but the cavs would really need to collapse. like 2-5 to finish out.

All said and done, teams will monitor the play in carefully. I expect Nets to secure 8th leading into the play in but where it will get tricky for the top four teams in terms of seeding is if the Nets finish 7th. To get to 8th, Nets would need to lose vs Cleveland or whoever falls there and beat the winner of 9/10. When all is said and done, I predict Nets finish 7th and Miami will end up at the 2 spot.

I think the focus from tops teams will be more rest/throw games to keep nets out all together vs. trying to drop to 3 or 4. it will be frustrating, but if/when it happens we have ourselves to blame, not the teams throwing games to keep us out.

We just need to win games. vs, mostly inferior competition. A loss vs the hawks would be telling.

With ben back we beat the bucks in 5. Bucks are a great matchup, cause their coaching sucks too which minimzes nash

So championship coach sucks? C'mon now, it's a huge push even for you man. I can easily make a case for him being top 5. He's records undisputable.
