I think the most confused guy in all this has to be Chris Rock. He tells one bad joke, gets slapped, no one does anything about it, and now half the internet blames it all on him. What an odd 24 hours.

I doubt he's confused. Most comedians have probably been seeing the death of comedy coming for quite some time.

Wait, half the internet blames Chris Rock?

I guess I shouldn't be surprised.

See, I feel like if you get slapped for telling garbage jokes, that's a very tangible incentive to improve your comedy. <gets slapped> I can feel it working

It was an off-the-cuff comment. Of course that could be spin, but it makes sense. I seriously doubt he knew she had alopecia. Probably thought he was just making a stupid "G.I. Jane" reference.

I thought that had already come out and been forgettable or something. Wasn't it supposed to come out like pre-pan?

The Top Gun movie will only be good if Miles Teller dies a painful death.
At a party given by a billionaire, Kurt Vonnegut informs Joseph Heller that their host had made more money in a single day than Heller had earned from his novel Catch-22.

Heller responds, “Yes, but I have something he will never have — ENOUGH.”

Captain America: The First Avenger was pretty bad.

Captain Marvel was okay, much better than Captain America: The First Avenger.
That's a ridiculous way to watch the movies. Watch them by release date.

Some pretty mediocre movies in the first group including Thor 1 and 2, Cap, Hulk, etc.

Super fun throwback slasher film. Rian Johnson could learn a lot from this film about subverted expectations. It can be a useful tool in filmmaking when there’s a reason for it and it’s well done.

I went in thinking X would be a lot weirder than it was. I liked it a lot, but it was shockingly free of the typical A24 artiness and pretentious bullsh*t. Just a very straightforward horror movie. I expected it to be strange and it wasn't, so I guess my expectations were subverted?

I like what he's doing. I know it's a tad different but I introduced my kids to Star Wars by the Machete order.

I've never actually done a ranking but the first Thor is probably a top 5 Marvel movie for me.
