Adebayo would look so good in green but it will never happen unfortunately.

Beat the Heat.

He's one of my favorites in the league. Too much to ask him to be the A1 of a team. But could you imagine him next to RW?

All the switching would be absolutely INSANE.

Pretty important game. I'm fearful this injury and the loss vs Toronto took the wind out of our sails.

Big test to see if this team can overcome adversity here.

I gotta say - the news that Gorman hanging it up is around the corner affects me more than any Celtic player retiring or leaving the team. Him and Tommy have been Celtics basketball since I've started watching. I like Scal a lot, probably more than most. But it's just gonna be so weird when Mike steps down.

When is Mike Gorman retiring? After this season?

I believe he said he can go one more year as long as Celtics org allows him not to travel for road games.

Actually, I think that he said a couple more years.

I am still bummed about the loss to the Craptors. really wanted that for multiple reasons..

Losing to Miami will have me in a deep depression.. Though I feel it won't happen. Expect a ton of Zone. Spo will not let Tatum beat him.. expect traps and doubles... shooters be ready!!

EDIT.. this is a statement game.. Though Boston lost a great player, we are not going anywhere
2 things need to go.. my lack of spell check and Joe..

Yeah he said 2. I was under the impression he was including this year. But you're probably right. Either way, it's coming sooner than later.

I don't understand people saying these youngsters were geting a rest. Except for Horford. But this game will be a real test to see these new new new Celts and what they're made of. I will misss watching the game but will look at highlights and commentary with keen interest. Hopefully we'll get a surprise and see someone elevate, although it's hard to see who. Everyone is playing at the top of their abilities right now far as I can see. Perhaps JB can add another 10 points, Pritchard is giving his best. Perhaps Nesmith can show something. I see some good flashes from him. Perhaps he can make those flashes more consistent. Theis could add more I guess. Horford will do what he does I guess but I don't look for him to elevate over what he's been doing. But we'll see what's up tonite.

***And oh yeah please lord lets hope Smart doesn't think he has to save the day now that he's settled into a good role. That wouldn't be good.

Gorman is great, but Grande could slip right in with ease.

It'll be an adjustment, but tbh I think it's the right time. Definitely sad, but he hasn't been quite as sharp as his younger days, and I am sure he's getting tired working a demanding job with a ton of travel. Makes sense to finish his tenure on his own terms and enjoy his retirement. It also makes way for Grande, who is as good a play-by-play announcer as anyone in the game.

it would be amazing defensively. But not enough shooting. Bam is literally 0/6 on the season shooting 3's. With rob at the 5, we need a 4 who can space the floor and shoot. Like Tatum, Grant, al. Minimum viable shooter at the 4 would be theis. Anyone who's a worse shooter than theis, can't play next to rob.

Should we….lose on purpose today?

I’m stuck trying to figure out which seeding is best for the Celtics.

There’s 2 ways to go about it:

Go for the 1 seed, win today, push the heat towards the 4th seed which is what we would want for a potential round 2 BUT there’s that chance we could get the Nets in round 1 without Rob. If you get the 1 or 2 seed, Brooklyn might be in the way and that’s tough. However say we avoid brooklyn and get the one seed with the heat being the 4th? That’s by far the best bracket to be in.

Now if we lose today, we go down to the 4th seed I think and the heat are back in the 1 seed which is something that we would want although without home court. We likely would need to beat one of the bulls or raptors in round 1 but there’s zero chance we match up with Brooklyn. We can beat those teams without Rob and then we’ll most likely have our full squad starting round 2 while giving away the home court advantage. The 4th seed might be the safest option in this scenario.
