I don't think we should count our chickens before they hatch. Everyone's rehab is different. Rob might progress slower than expected. Even if he does come back as soon as 4 weeks, he might not be the same player right away. And then as good as we look right now, there's no guarantee we make it out of the first round, never mind the second round if he isn't back until the ECF timeline.

Nah, forget all this. I just needed a reason to be hopeful again and I got it and I'm taking it. *LaLaLaLaLaLaLa*

We just gotta avoid the nets in the first IMO. I was open to facing them before when healthy *I still didn't want to* but now? We just gotta survive. With rob we have a shot. So keep yourself in the tournament for as long as possible. Seeding matters more now than it did before. We just gotta get lucky and hope it all falls in our favor in the end. I think we can take the cavs/bulls/raptors/heat without rob.

So glad to be wrong.

This brings title contender back into the fold. ECF is 7 weeks away, have Rob back to 100% for the Bucks, and let’s see what happens.

One thing that people should not be concerned about, there is no more of a long term risk with this, versus the full repair surgery.

Is it because the tear is small?

The armchair twitter doctoring I've seen on this is a little annoying ngl lol, Idk what to believe

No surprises here with the 4-6 week return date. That's typical with MCL. Boston can be really good and be perfectly fine without him now thru Rd 1, as long as they don't have to play BK in RD 1. Honestly, I'm okay with being #3 seed and matching up with Toronto or Cleveland.

3rd seed will get you the Bulls -
Problem with that is 76ers also want that Matchup.

Raps are going to finish 5th

Good chance Cav's fall to either Hawks or Hornets in the Playin.

Don't believe me , just ask my Crystal Ball. :D

Hope Rob made the right decision, selfishly pumped to see him back. I guess it's not necessarily always an either or decision and sometimes the long term repair isn't possible.

We won't actually know about the decision unless it comes out explicitly. Rob may have opted for it or the doctors could have went for it once they took a deeper look

Can confirm. I had mine trimmed rather than repaired when I tore it.

I remain just as unathletic as I used to be.

Woj in his story said:
Williams suffered the tear on Sunday night, but the extent of the injury allowed for a procedure that won't require him to be sidelined for several months, sources said.

So hopefully the tear is very small and the removal won't affect him much

The only east team I think we NEED Rob to beat is the Bucks and MAYBE the Nets but honestly their defense is just soooo terrible. If seeding breaks right and we get Bulls/Cavs, then Miami, then Bucks I think we could give Rob the extra couple weeks to come back in game shape for ECF against the Bucks. Rob would help a lot against Bam and Miami obviously but I am just not afraid at all of their offensive options and can see them totally imploding. IMO they're above their head in the group of us, Philly, and the Bucks.

That's good news.

Celts can make the finals if Rob gets healthy in a month.

Seems like he should have taken the Full Surgery, for his personal long-term health.
Rob took one for the team, by electing to have the Lesser Surgery. There are lingering affects to that.

He may have to go for the Full Surgery, later on.
Apparently he really wants to get back for this Playoff Run, and help his team out.

If I were him I would have gone with the absolute most effective surgery. Especially considering the contract he signed. He's certainly not going to be hurting with $48M, but he isn't cashing in fully. Personally for him, I'd feel awful if he has a shorter career or can't maintain his level of player well enough into his next contract to really cash in fully.
