If Kawhi comes back in the first round, PHX would have worked that hard for 1st seed only to possibly go out in the first round

at least you had the decency to stfu instead of sh*it all over the game thread

No point in freaking out if we arent at full strength. As long as it is a fun game this year I'm happy

Good man. Thanks for not vulturing on the game thread. This is supposed to be fun. :lift:

After skunking the T-Pups to seize the #7, we're lined up to get the Grizz at #2 first. If we get past them, THEN Kawhi has to answer the bell to take on CP3. Death match.

Comeback Kings continue to ravage the NBA. Must be nice for options 2, 3 and 4 to no longer be options 1, 2 and 3 (even though Reggie still clanked a lot of shots last night)

Tough, but such is life. Though depending on when Kawhi comes back, I'd rather play Phoenix a little later after he's ramped up a bit. If the Clippers get them early, Phoenix will have the advantage

Fell asleep at the start of the 4th when we were down 14 I think. I was for sure it was a loss. Crow is not tasty first thing in the morning.

Happy to see PG back and look healthy. That’s the biggest thing.

I’m sure I’ll get flamed for saying this but it would be nice to see the guys come out swinging instead of waiting until they’re down 20. I know they put up the pretty graphic about our record for comebacks and some like to oh and ah about it here. It just doesn’t feel like a good habit to me.

For sure, always better to start off well, but shots also didn't fall, and every team is going to have games where they start off slow, it's unavoidable, even Phoenix has those games. The more important thing is what you do when it happens.

Clippers have consistently shown under Lue that they can adjust to what the opponent throws at them and be resilient even if things start off poorly.

The Jazz are #1 in the NBA in Ortg, so, yea, if your shots are off early they are exactly the kind of team that has a good chance of then putting you behind by double digits.

Of course before PG came back in the Clippers simply did not have the offensive fire power to keep up with a lot of teams early, but they still adjusted well a good amount of times. As more firepower returns we will see fewer early deficits.

I sometimes wonder why I bother to watch the first half… all the fun starts in mid third of so many games.
The Clipper fan understands the Book of Exodus better than anyone... what it's like to struggle 40 years in the wilderness... and Genesis.. why Cain went after Abel... So fLakers, look out... we're coming.

That obnoxious-ass team losing in Round 1 would be beautiful. They still haven't beaten a healthy team in a playoff series yet.

That team and its fan base talk an awful lot like they've actually accomplished something... Probably my most hated team right now

On the contrary... most Phoenix fans on here have said a healthy Clippers team worries us the most, and I agree.

A healthy Clippers team for me is better than both Memphis and Golden State.

I think the reason most Suns fans hate the Clippers is for 2 reasons - Pat Beverley and Marcus Morris.

I am confident in that I think the Suns would beat a Kawhi-less Clippers team in Round 1, but it would be potentially their toughest series in the playoffs. I think if Kawhi comes back its a 7 game series, with the winner having the track to the NBA Finals.

Luckily he has a short term memory, because he definitely helped down the stretch.

Another thing I noticed and after hearing PG in the post game say he worked almost exclusively with his left during rehab, his handle was MUCH more in control and smoother. Non of the really sloppy dribbling like he used to have at times prior to getting injured.

You've actually been a really great, sensible fan but a lot of Suns fans on this board and Twitter have become like mini Laker fans.

kinda hate to generalize about fans but yeah i'd agree on this take. a lot of really uber-obnoxious and super insecure phx fans on this board. like i didn't think anyone could be as bad as laker fans but there are plenty on the GB.

anyway agree that pj0tr is a reasonable guy. as far as the whole suns vs clips thing itself: prob the most reasonable take is suns win by fair margin with only paul george back, it's a lot closer with powell back, and much much closer with kawhi back as well. to me it's just too much to ask for the team to be at peak sync with so little left to play, so even with everyone back the suns should still be favored.

funny because i was quite loudly hoping he would do exactly this, so that's super awesome to hear. i did notice his crossovers and dribbling were really sharp overall.

Bulls, Bucks, Pelicans, Suns, Kings and Thunder next. Can we go 4-2 and finish at .500 ? Can we go 5-1 and extend our winning record streak to 11 seasons?
I know playoffs are the goal, but after having only 1 winning season in the previous 18, that is a big statement on the franchise.

I was wondering about that too. I don't think we'd expect any discomfort but with this season who knows man.

Return to Los Angeles Clippers
